Mike Shanahan, Part 2

Posted 11-24-2007 at 01:40 AM by Mike
I have to question Shanahan at this point. It is like he has bought into all the talk about him being a genius and he has lost all focus.

He had a good running back, perfect for the system, already on the roster after last season with Mike Bell. The perfect running back for the system, but Shanahan decided he would go against his normal way of doing things, go out and get a free agent running back, and commit to him 100%. Forget the fact that this running back was injury prone, never...

Minnesota Vikings Do The Right Thing - After Being Pressured

Posted 11-11-2007 at 01:52 AM by Mike
Troy Williamson, Minnesota Vikings Wide Receiver, missed practice time and the game this past week, and for good reason. Williamson's grandmother, who raised him, passed away.

Putting his focus on family, Troy took time away from the team in order to make the funeral arrangements, and get family members (including those in the military) back home for the funeral. He paid for all the funeral arrangements, as well as paying to get family members back home to be at the funeral.

Mike Shanahan Messed Up This Time

Posted 10-11-2007 at 11:18 PM by Mike
I think we all watched the Broncos play last year, at least a little anyway.

Let me say, as a Longhorns fan, I would love to see Selvin Young bust out and outproduce Cedric Benson (the guy he played behind), much like we seen fairly recently with Ricky Williams and Priest Holmes. That said, I don't think Selvin Young is that guy, or anywhere close to it.

Where Shanahan messed up:
Last season, Shanahan ran his running backs like he normally does, where none of...

Thoughts On the Jaguars Going With Garrard

Posted 08-31-2007 at 06:15 PM by Mike
Wow, what a shocking development on the eve of the NFL regular season. Let me just say, I don't think for a minute that this is a case of going with the best quarterback on the roster.

Last season, there was some tension between Del Rio and Leftwich. Leftwich wanted to be on the field, but he was shut down for an "injury". It seemed at the time there was more to this, and apparently, judging by this development, there was more to the story. Leftwich would barely talk to reporters...

My Super Bowl Contenders for 2007

Posted 08-31-2007 at 02:25 PM by Mike
Each and every year, 32 NFL teams start the season off, all with a chance at obtaining a Super Bowl ring, right? Wrong. Let's be real here, most of these teams don't have a snowball's chance in (you know where) of making the playoffs, much less winning the ultimate title in the greatest sport in the World.

So, lets go about this in a backwards manner, because that is how my mind works. Barring in-season injuries, this is how I see it.

You need a good defense to have...
