Mike Shanahan, Part 2

I have to question Shanahan at this point. It is like he has bought into all the talk about him being a genius and he has lost all focus.
He had a good running back, perfect for the system, already on the roster after last season with Mike Bell. The perfect running back for the system, but Shanahan decided he would go against his normal way of doing things, go out and get a free agent running back, and commit to him 100%. Forget the fact that this running back was injury prone, never has been a consistent year to year runner, and likes to smoke pot. Shanahan ignores all of this and goes with him anyway, completely killing the consistency of the offense.
That was basically what I said when Henry was signed, and that is pretty much exactly how it went down.
Even when you look back to the pre-season and mini-camps, Mike Bell was running better than ever, but it didn't matter. Shanahan ignored it and focused 100% on Travis Henry. This has turned out to be the dumbest move he could have ever made.
I know most want to blame Travis Henry for all of this, but the fact is, Shanahan knew what he was before he signed him, yet chose to sign him anyway.
Great move Shanny, how about paying attention to the talent you already have on the roster next time.
