Waiver Wire Moves – Week 12
We are getting close to the end of the season and any help we can get to put us fantasy owners over the top is something we will take. Here are my top suggestions for your week 12 moves.
Quarterbacks:
Matt Schaub - Houston Texans
This late in the season many owners have decided to cut bait on the Texans QB due to his injury problems. He now appears to be healthy and has his favorite target, Andre Johnson, back again as well. Schaub is at worst a nice back-up the rest of the season and has potential to be more.
Follow-up to Last Week: Jason Campbell - Washington Redskins
Campbell has put two very nice weeks together in a row and is someone that could very well be making a second half push. If your thin at QB, he should be on your roster.
Running Backs
Ricky Williams - Miami Dolphins
It is with great hesitation that I mention his name. This news broke after my article last week so in most large league Williams has been claimed, but if he is available he may be worth a spot on name recognition alone. If your trade deadline has not passed, you could possibly include him in a package for an upgrade. He may get some late season action, but don’t expect too much if you hang on to him.
Wide Receivers
Arnaz Battle - San Francisco 49ersBattle is quietly getting consistent looks and has went over 75 yards in each of the last two weeks. Without many other options at WR for the 49ers, Battle may emerge as a spot starter down the stretch in case of an emergency.
Reggie Williams - Jacksonville Jaguars
Two weeks ago I suggested looking in Williams, and here we are 2 weeks later and Williams is coming off of another nice week. Expect a boom or bust type performance if your ever brave enough to start him, but Williams has the potential to have some decent weeks down the stretch.
Tight EndsL.J. Smith - Philadelphia Eagles
Here is another player that may have been discarded onto the FA garbage pile a few weeks ago due to injury. Well he’s back, and has put together 2 decent weeks back to back. If he’s available in your league grab him before someone else does.
Defensive Line
Dewayne Robertson - DT - New York Jets
Robertson is a disruptive presence in the middle that has been on a decent roll as of late. His play making ability makes him worth a spot.
Linebackers
Kevin Burnett - LB - Dallas Cowboys
Burnett has been on a decent roll as of late posting 20 solo tackles over the last 3 weeks. This is a consistent source of points that can add depth to your IDP league.
Eric Barton - LB - New York Jets
Barton is another LB that is playing well lately and can help your IDP team. If you need some help at LB, he should be on your short list.
Defensive Backs
Brodney Pool - S - Cleveland Browns
Pool has a great week against the Ravens this past weekend and has put together a nice stretch of games from an IDP standpoint.
Kennoy Kennedy - S - Detroit Lions
Kennedy has been making some big plays the last couple weeks and his 12 solo tackles over the last 2 weeks also provides a consistent source for points if he can maintain this level of play.
