Player Returns - Week 8
Plain and simple, which of your injured studs is headed back to your lineup and which ones are headed back to the training room.
Let's find out!
Brian Westbrook - RB, Eagles
Westbrook (ribs, ankle) returned to a full practice Wednesday. Westbrook may share more of the load than usual with Buckhalter but he is a must start against a middle of the road run defense.
Joseph Addai - RB, Colts
Addai (hamstring) was listed a limited participant in practice on Wednesday and his status for the game is at 50/50. An unhealthy Addai against a stout Titans D, you have better options this week.
UPDATE:Rhodes is getting the start. Addai may suit up but he is not a viable option for you this week.
Willie Parker - RB, Steelers
FWP is no longer on the Steelers injury report and has fully returned to practice. FWP will start against the 5th ranked Giants run D.
UPDATE:FWP has aggravated his knee injury again and is listed as doubtful, Moore will start again.
Marques Colston - WR, Saints
Yes, I know he returned last week. Most of the advice that was handed out by the Outlaws was to sit on him week 7 and take a wait and see approach. I hope you listened. Expect a "full" return for Colston this week.
Anquan Boldin - WR, Cardinals
Boldin (head, jaw) has been medically cleared for contact. Although this is good news, I hesitated with the thumbs up due to the fact that when he had his jaw wired shut he did lose 10-15 pounds. This will of course affect his strength and endurance. Right now he is Questionable so check back later in the week for updates.
UPDATE:WHile he is listed as questionable, ESPNs John Clayton is reporting that Q will likely play 30-35 snaps on Sunday. While not a 100 percent he is always a threat to score, look for Q to be a WR3/flex play this week.
Ike Hilliard - WR, Bucs
Hilliard took a nasty hit in week 7 against the Seahawks and suffered a concussion. While it was amazing to see Hilliard get up on his own and look like he was ready to play, don't expect him back this week. Hilliard is experiencing headaches and I'm sure he won't be cleared to play until those go away.
UPDATE:Hilliard racticed in full on Friday and is listed as questionable. He would be a risky play this week.
Jeremy Shockey - TE, Saints
Shockey (groin) missed Wednesdays practice and while I wouldn't expect him to play, his status is uncertain. If you have another option, use it.
UPDATE:Shockey practiced Thursday on a limited basis. Coach Sean Payton said Shockey’s prospects were “better” in terms of playing on Sunday and said he “looked good” at practice.
UPDATE:Practiced in a limited fashion Thursday and Friday and is listed as probable. Shockey looks to play but check the weather conditions as the forecast is less than favorable for passing.
Matt Hasselbeck - QB, Seahawks
Not this week. Hass is unable to practice and until he can, he won't play.
Steven Jackson - RB, Rams
SJax (quadriceps) did not participate in team drills but did some work in the weight room and intends on returning to practice Friday. SJax said his quad "is definitely headed in the right direction".....and that direction is your lineup.
UPDATE:SJax was limited on Friday and is listed as questionable. SJax will be a GTD so be sure to check his status before the game.
Sammy Morris - RB, Patriots
Morris' (knee) status is uncertain at the moment. He did not attend the Patriots walk through today but Lamont Jordan did. I am going to leave the Patriot backfield status as "unclear" for now and update as more information is available.
UPDATE:Sammy Morris likely out 2-3 weeks.
Chris Chambers - WR, Chargers
Chambers (ankle) has been limited for two straight days in practice. Chambers said he feels good and has not had a setback. We'll see how Friday practice goes, but I wouldn't expect much from him this week matched up against Mike McKenzie.
UPDATE:Limited in practice on Friday and is listed as questionable.
Updated for Friday! Thanks for reading and Good Luck this week!

Had not heard about the 15 pound weight loss for Boldin. I think he is going to play, but that will effect himPosted 10-22-2008 at 09:57 PM by Mike
