Player Returns - Week 9
Plain and simple, which players are heading back from suspension/injury and which are heading back to the training rooms.
Jason Witten (ribs) - TE, Cowboys
Witten broke a rib last week in a win over the Bucs. Witten has yet to practice this week but says he may do some hitting on Friday to see how the rib feels. Witten says he is optimistic about his chances of playing, but, it's easy to be optimistic when you haven't yet taken a hit. Witten's status is 50/50 and you can guarantee he will be a GTD.
Joseph Addai - RB, Colts
Guess who is not on the Colts injury report? Addai is ready to run and with a bum ankle possibly sidelining Rhodes, look for Addai to get the majority of the workload.
UPDATE: Guess who is back on the injury report??
Not sure what to make of it, whether is a re-injury or a precaution. He is listed as questionable so be sure to check his status before game time.
Willie Parker (knee) - RB, Steelers
FWP is still listed on the Steelers injury report but has been a full participant in both Wednesdays and Thursdays practice sessions. Still talk of FWP being a GTD for MNF and a likely time-share with Mewelde Moore.
UPDATE: Has practiced fully all week and is listed as probable.
Warrick Dunn (back) - RB, Bucaneers
Dunn is a big ol' question mark for week 9. He has been held out of both Bucs practices this week with the back injury. Dunn only saw three carries in week 8 and Gruden said in hindsight that he should have been held out. Obviously I wouldn't consider playing Dunn this week but if you have Graham on your roster get him in there for that match-up against a weak KC defense.
UPDATE: Dunn did not travel with the Bucs to KC...you know what that means.
Steven Jackson (quadriceps) - RB, Rams
I am going to take lessons learned from last week and apply them here. SJax started last week looking as if there was a good chance he would play. Then the prognosis steadily declined and finally was declared inactive for week 8. So far this week he has practiced in a limited fashion, meaning limited reps with Pittman again getting the majority. Haslett is considering SJax as "day to day" so I'll put his status as Questionable.
UPDATE: From SJax's website: "I want to let you all know that the leg is feeling good enough for me to go on Sunday. ... I am playing. Be ready." While it is looking good, I wouldn't trust it for now, make sure you check his status before game time.
Reggie Wayne - WR, Colts
Not a lot of information coming from the Colts as usual. Wayne didn't practice until Friday and did so in a limited fashion and is listed as questionable. It's a funky situation with the Colts playing the Sunday Night game so his status probably won't be known until late.
Thanks for reading!! Look for one more update before game time Sunday morning!
