tiger is rated 164th in fairways hit so far in 2007. i dont like his chances at this event. better chance of him missing the cut than winning the open in my opinion.

i'll give you a couple names. i like long shots scott verplank and tim clark. i also like jim furyk and zach johnson. my pick? luke donald.

tiger is in good shape. shot +1 on day one and just a couple off the lead going into day two.

phil is in trouble. he finished at +11 through two days and looks to be right at the cut line, so he may or may not be finishing the weekend, but im sure hes done either way.

the longer tiger stays near the top, i have to think the bigger threat he becomes, for sure.

anyone else interested in this? this is always my favorite golf event of the year. the real beginning swing of summer, a lot of upstart underdog stories each year it seems, and the champ crowned on fathers day. i love it!
