Quick question, how can Germany be favored to win it all in one thread but the odds of them losing in the quarters are favored here?

i dunno, i noticed that and thought it was interesting as well. i guess its just not apples to apples.

the oddsmakers apparently think that germany is easily the class of their group, and that they will definitely make it out of group play. if you assume germany makes the tourney of 8 then, like they seem to be, then it of course is going to give better odds of them losing right away than the odds of winning 3 in a row to win the title. does that make sense?
