Chris Williams, New Mexico State- Williams was a fantasy stud till he was lost for the year with a broken collarbone against Idaho. Look for Williams to rebound with a vengeance in 2008. Projecting his sucess over the course of the season, Williams likely would have hauled in 100 catches, 1500 yards, and 18 TDs,
Casey Fitzgerald, North Texas - Last year broke out with 111 receptions for over 1300 yards and 12 TDs. Fitzgerald will be the focal point of a much improved North Texas passing attack entering year two under Texas High School demi God and spread offensive guru Todd Dodge. Look for those yards and TDs to go up by several each.
This is a tough call. Williams seems to be a touch more explosive, but Fitzgeralds going to get the looks. Your sitting there....say 3rd round. Youve got your studs at
RB. Crabtree is LONG gone, someones uneducated butt has reached waaay too high on a BCS reciever, and now here you are. What do you do?
The Sarge, as much as he loves Fitz, is going with Williams. North Texas has a nasty habit of scheduling murders against high power teams for cash. Even though Fitzgerald still burnt Oklahoma like bad toast last year, I like the idea of consistent matchups each week that Williams provides.
