SO COLLEGE FOOTBALL POLL

Sports Outlaw Top 15 Pre Season Poll

Feel free to PM Me a vote people. The more voters I get, the better off we are.

Whats interesting is Ohio State sits at a solid #3, despite not getting one first place vote.

The early season tilt matching up our #1 USC and #3 Ohio State is going to be a bloody war.

Texas Tech is getting love in the polls. They claim to have a defense up there now.

I remain unconvinced.

Arizona State is probably the second best team in the PAC10 at this point. Means it should translate to at least another 10 win year.

ASU has actually been legit at one point or another, but Tech? Every year, people get sucked in by their offense, predict great things, then they lose 4-5 games.

Sounds like they are getting sucked in again this season. I believe I gave them like a 14th place vote, nothing major, but Ive seen them as high as 8th in some polls.

Those make me feel a little better. Ive been reading alot of local stuff here ranking these guys higher than I thought they should be.

Ive even seen some picks of Tech winning the conference and or crashing the BCS. As stated, I dont see it, but someone smokes that Red Raider doobie every year.

For me, they're #1 until someone beats them. Do I think someone will? Yes, but it hasn't happened yet so they're still #1 in my book.

I've always done it that way since I started participating in these things. The champ is the champ until they lose.

That's how I almost always do it too -- you finish at #1, you start there the next year. But not in LSU's case for me. A, they are not a true national champion to me. They lost two games and didn't have to play the best teams to "win the title." No other national champ has ever lost two games. And B, they lost like three quarters of their team, including both QBs, their top WR, and just about every significant defensive playmaker. I'm sure they recruit well, but I'm not giving that team the benefit of the doubt.

They followed the system and won the title. It's not their fault that the system is pretty damn silly. As for "the benefit of the doubt" isn't that how people are ranking teams AHEAD of LSU at this point? It's not as if any of them have defeated the Tigers. No one has played a game since LSU won the BCS title.

It comes down to how one looks at the polls. I don't care for them, but as long as they're part of the equation I'll view them as a point in time. Where are the teams NOW, based on performance, not where I think they'll end up later.

I don't think LSU will win the NC game again this year, but until they actually lose I can't rank anyone ahead of them based on performance. The only way I can put someone ahead of them, at this point, is to rely purely on speculation.

Isn't that what pre-season polls are all about?

I didn't rank LSU high because they've lost alot and they're going to be inexperienced at alot of positions.

For that matter, if the champ is the champ until they lose, shouldn't we all begin the season with Ohio State at #2 in our rankings? I mean, they're the two time defending #2 champ and all. It's their spot to lose at this point.
