I bet on Penn State to win the Big Ten before the season started, so I'm not having any kind of over-reaction.

OU has the same problem USC does. they tend to sleep walk through a few games as well, like the stunning loss in colorado last season. under stoops and with the talent they recruit, OU ought to be in that sentence with USC and the SEC, but they seem to have a disappointing loss or two every year.

haha its 3 weeks into the season and your already declaring USC as the best team in the country? Like I said earlier Ohio State is one of the top ten teams in the country with beanie wells. But there is no way in hell they are a top ten team without him. I agree Penn State has a great shot to win the big 10 instead of ohio state. Ohio State only has a chance to win the rose bowl if they don't meet up with USC, the SEC, or Oklahoma in that game.

i personally am declaring usc the #1 team right now. theyve got the best win, and theyve looked the best. and no, i do not expect them to stay there. they'll find some mediocre pac 10 team to choke against at some point. the whole point of the poll is voting off of what we've seen so far. thats why for me, i dont even have ohio state in my top 15. i fully expect them to run the table (maybe lose 1 more) and end up back in the top 10, top 5 even at the end of the year.

Yes I am.....and they will also end up there come December. I think this team is for real b/c they finally have a better defense then offense. And their offense is pretty damn good. USC is the best team in the country. Sorry to the SEC homers....just the way it is.

And again, for all the OSU bashing, why doesn't Oklahoma get the same?? What quality out of confrence win have I missed?? Cincinnati??? What amazing Bowl victory have they come up with lately?? Boise Stae...oh wait, they got beat.....how about WV (basically the same team that just got beat by Colorado...), oh wait, they crushed them. At least OSU is getting out gunned by the best. Oklahoma finds a way to get embarrassed by much lesser opponets.

And for all this with or without crap...it's a mute point. Beanie is not out for the season so why are we talkign about without him? That is like saying that Florida is not a top 10 team without Tebow.....what is the point??

to be fair, wva is not at all the same team that just got beat by colorado. they lost a TON of seniors last year. but also to be fair, oklahoma lost THEMSELVES to colorado last year, so you can just remove the middle man.

For me I dont think you can even make the point who the best team in the country is right now. I think its just a lot of hot air to make you watch ESPN or Buy Newspapers.

You will begin to see how good these teams are when they start playing divisional games. Right now you have to say USC is number one because they Beat OSU. It really doesnt matter if they had Beanie or not, the simple fact is they won. I do think OSU has been the most over hyped team the last couple of years and that has been proven when they got absolutely destroyed in both Championship games.

You will rarely ever see a SEC team at # 1 because getting out of the SEC without a loss is pretty much impossible. Getting out of the SEC with just 1 loss is almost impossible.

Comparing SEC Football to the rest is really not even fair.

Pac-10 teams usually play tougher schedules than SEC teams. For one, they play everyone in conference, don't feast on 1-AA creampuffs as much (3 of the 4 or 5 remaining programs to not play a 1-AA school are in the Pac), and play tough non conference schedules.

I will post the #s to prove it in a few minutes after I track them down.

Though, with that being said, the Pac-10 has had some horrible out-of-conference loses in the early going this season.

This is probably the weakest Pac-10 (sans USC), since 1999.

haha sec homer? I havent once said an SEC team will win the championship. Or that Florida will win the SEC championship. Your the one whos been talking up ohio state saying they WILL win the big ten and they will make a bcs game, and have a good chance to win it. haha so watch out who your calling a homer. We did mention Oklahoma as being overrated, but you started defending USC and Ohio State so thats why they have been getting bashed.

You right.....but let's take a look at what you have said shall we?
Quote:
I agree on USC.
So the top team in the Pac-10 and #1 team in the country is over-rated according to you.
Quote:
I'm not buying into Oklahoma either. I am interested to see how they do in the bowl game this year since they have lost to Boise State 2 years ago and then got slapped by West Virginia last year.
OK, now there is #2 and the top team from the Big 12....
Quote:
I agree once again with Sarge. Ohio State was not a top 5 team in my opinion, and I dont believe they are a top 10 team without beanie. And the big ten has never played well on the west coast. USC also crushed Virginia who on espn they have as one of the worst ten teams this year.
Now OSU is over-rated.....Before I even stepped foot in this thread, so don't act like you only bashed OSU b/c I said something.... Oh, and another bash on USC.

So, let's see, talking about over-rated and you conveniently bash on the other 3 major conferences (sorry, ACC and Big Least don't count) top teams yet don't say a word about the SEC.....BUT your not a homer....RIGHT.....

Quote:

Guess I would rather state what I believe and stick up for it rather then just bash everyone else and call the top team not in your confrence over-rated.... And Your damn right I'm a , I've never once denied it or try to hide it. Were all homer.....and YOU are as big of a as me....just look at the facts above.

Quote:
We did mention Oklahoma as being overrated
Yeah, sorry if your a little hard to follow....you tired from jumping back and forth on the fence yet?
Quote:

Quote:
I guarantee Florida, Georgia, and maybe Oklahoma could play with USC.
- But your not a homer right.....just GAUARANTEE that fla and Geo and oh....OKLAHOMA who I thought you weren't sold on either.....FLIP....FLOP.....see why it's hard to follow you??? But here's one more:
Quote:
Ohio State only has a chance to win the rose bowl if they don't meet up with USC, the SEC, or Oklahoma in that game.
So you said they were over-rated, but any chance you had you put them in your conversation with the elite.....

Quote:
but you started defending USC and Ohio State so thats why they have been getting bashed.
OMG!!! You mean someone gave an opion on a message board,.....you don't say!!!! The NERVE!!! And again, you were bashing USC and OSU long before I started commenting in this thread....now that comment is pretty weak.....

So what is your stance?? Everyone is over-rated at the top except for the SEC teams??? That is what it sounds like to me....but please calrify since you trying to act like your not a homer.......face it....WERE ALL HOMERS!!!

SC is the best team in the West. Since the West is the best, SC must be the best team in all of the land.

And why wouldn't SC be? Second largest media market and the only football team in town. Sure, there's UCLA, but they don't pay their players anything close to those at SC.

Too many good programs in the SEC causes a significant drain on the talent pool.

SC competes for talent with pretty much no one in the West.
