I need to check the rules. I am not sure....but I think rosters lock at playoffs. Otherwise I will approve this move.

I was correct...per the rules at MFL:

Free agency will be frozen after the regular season. This means all rosters are locked. With the playoffs taking place during the holiday season, I only want to have owners concerned about starting lineups. For owners who may have limited or no internet access at this time, they will not have a disadvantage in terms of missing out on waiver wire moves. Free agency will not open again until RFA and UFA bidding starts at the designated time during the off-season of each year.

Phic, I was wondering about that also.

But we can still sign players from our practice squads, correct?

Per the rules, rosters are locked. So no, you cannot activate folks from your PS either

This is supposed to be a highly active league, playoff teams need to be able to manage their team. If you want to lock out FA's, fine, that is one thing and stipulated in the rules, not being able to access the players on your own roster is another, and not blocked by the rules.

Locking roster IMO does not mean taking away an owners right to manage their own roster. My practice squad is part of my "roster" and should not be locked. I am not adding to the roster, only changing their status. No different then changing the status of a player from starter to non-stater (or is that locked too....) They are already on my roster. Blocking this move goes further then the rules stipulate IMO. The rules do not state that PS moves are locked, and since that is what this is and not a WW move, this should be allowed. The rules are written this way, we need to follow them.

Please re-review the rules you cited and note it only blocks free Agency. This is not a free agent move, this is a move within my already frozen roster. I trust after your review that Jackson will be reactivated to my active roster. If for whatever reason this does not occur, you need to reverse the entire transaction and add Matt Stover back to my roster with no cap hit.. His cut was to make room for jackson, if this is blocked then so is the Stover drop.

I have to agree with Miller here.

I mean, just say someone on my roster, like Glenn or Cotchery, is put on IR. Then I can't sign someone, say Moore, from my practice squad to take his place? This isn't penalizing someone else who can't be at the computer. It's just a matter of me preparing (prior to the playoffs) for such a situation with suitable players to fill the gaps. Why else do we have a PS?

Okay, I am flexible here.

You and Eaglechick make a good point, you are not adding FAs, you are only adding from your practice squad. So...since it is confusing..as it says locked at first, then focuses on FAs after that...I can't very well lock out your PS.

As such, I will reinstate Miller's move. He will activate Mr. Jackson...and take the cap hit..which is minor I think....and we move on.

I think we may want to bring this up again though...some might want to be able to keep making FA moves....I will add it to the list we are keeping for rules to be addressed.

For the record, I have no real issues here. I just went by the first sentance...which states clearly rosters are locked. Reading the whole thing much more closely...I can see the confusion.

Thanks for taking another look at that Phic! I agree, this is another area we should discuss in the offseason ,I for one would be in favor of letting FA go until the end of the season, but we can discuss further in the offseason ,now on to the domination of the league by Fear Da Tiger!

Thanks Phic!

I agree too it's something we should discuss. I honestly did read the rules, and I remembered discussing part of this but always thought I would be able to sign from the PS if needed.

Don't get ahead of yourself, Miller. There's other teams in this here Championship hunt

I'm not reading any of this drivel only to make the point that I'm in favor of anything that does not help miller's team. Thank you.
