Server Uprade Coming This Week

Just and FYI, there will be some minor downtime at some point this week as we upgrade to a new server.

While we are on a server that is more than capable of handling our traffic, we feel it is important to take a proactive approach in regards to security and future growth.

The upgrade will come at some point this week, possibly today. Once we are given a timeframe for the move, this information will be passed along in this thread.

Maybe have a look at "Forum Spy" while you have your wrenches out. Maybe it just needs a grease job

I have tried to use that recently, and it is jacked up. I will check to see if there is an update for that, or if someone else has an alternate product to use. Otherwise, it might be getting removed completely.

We changed directions and rather than moving to an existing large server, we are going to have an even bigger one built. All the equipment is on order. The company who is building the server and hosting it will be contacting me to give me a window for when the change is to be made (basically a 4 hour block of time), and I will pass that along if I am in a location where I can get online to do so.

I have requested that the server move be made at night if possible. Most likely, the downtime will be less than 30 minutes, though it could be a few hours if any issues develop.

For those familiar with this techy stuff, here is what we are currently on:
