The Vikings have reportedly increased their offer to the Chiefs for franchise player Jared Allen.
Minnesota allegedly now has its first-round and third-round picks this year and a 2009 second-rounder on the table. The Vikes were previously offering only their 2008 first- and third-rounders. Assuming a contract can be agreed upon, Kansas City seems likely to take them up on the new proposal. Apr. 22 - 10:23 am et

Bengals LB/DE David Pollock has retired. Pollock, a standout at the University of Georgia, injured his neck and never recovered.

This is a painful blow for the Bengals, as a 1st Round draft choice that played in less than 20 games for them is now gone. Pollock could have been HUGE for them.

Culpepper visiting Packers today

Quote:
The Green Bay Packers are exploring the possibility of signing veteran quarterback Daunte Culpepper.

Sources said the 31-year-old Culpepper arrived in Green Bay on Tuesday evening and is visiting the Packers today.

Culpepper, an unrestricted free agent, played last season for the Oakland Raiders. In seven games (including six starts), he completed 58.1 percent of his passes for 1,331 yards with five touchdowns and five interceptions.

A good signing if it happens.

With Jake Long on board, Dolphins looking to trade Taylor for picks

Quote:
The Miami Dolphins are busy. While they were working to finalize a five-year contract with first-round draft pick Jake Long, they were operating behind the scenes to strike a deal with another team for defensive end Jason Taylor.

Two clubs whom the Dolphins contacted confirmed Tuesday that Miami is shopping Taylor, looking for a mid-to-low first-round draft pick in return.

While that's not surprising it does contradict statements made by team vice president of football operations Bill Parcells, who insisted last month that Taylor would not be dealt.
"The only way Jason Taylor doesn't play for the Dolphins in 2008," Parcells said last month, "is if he retires. The team is not going to trade him."

We may not be done with intrigue and speculation surrounding the Fins yet.

Niners RG Bass Has Surgery.

Right guard David Baas tore his right pectoral muscle lifting weights last week and is scheduled for surgery today. He is expected to be ready for the start of the regular season but will miss the bulk of training camp and most, if not all, of the 49ers' exhibition games.

Broncos To Go Left Tackle In The First?

There is air to breathe, food to eat, water to drink and a left tackle to protect a quarterback's blind side.
Whether its mankind or football with a twist, the essentials to survival never vary.
The Broncos leave most of life's basics to geologists, environmentalists and agriculturists. But only the Broncos can fortify the protection for quarterback Jay Cutler.
With the 2008 NFL draft to be held Saturday and Sunday, all signs point to the Broncos taking a left tackle in the first round.
There is even a chance the draft board will fall in a manner that would give the Broncos their choice of three tackles they covet — Ryan Clady, Chris Williams and Branden Albert — by the time they make the No. 12 pick.
