Crisis over RC!
------------------------
-- Wahle Would Consider Packers --
Wed Feb 13, 2008 --from FFMastermind.com
The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports the Green Bay Packers need a guard and OG Mike Wahle needs a job. The chances of them reuniting, however, aren't as simple as getting them both on the phone. On Tuesday, a day after he was released by the Carolina Panthers, Wahle said the Packers were the kind of team that appeals to him and returning to the organization that brought him into the National Football League nine years ago would be something he could envision. "I would definitely consider it," said Wahle, who left the Packers in 2005 for a five-year, $27 million free agent contract with the Panthers and made the Pro Bowl that year for the first time. "They're a real class organization. I've got a lot of respect for that franchise."

I'd like to say it won't be that bad, but I can't guarantee that.

Bengals | Lewis says team will not trade C. Johnson
Wed, 13 Feb 2008 13:27:04 -0800

Mark Curnutte, of The Cincinnati Enquirer, reports Cincinnati Bengals head coach Marvin Lewis said Wednesday, Feb. 13, that the team will not trade WR Chad Johnson. "No. 1, the guy has a contract through 2011, OK," Lewis said. "No one within the Bengals organization has ever spoken of or ever uttered anything about trading Chad Johnson, nor will he be traded." The Bengals would take an $8.03 million salary cap hit if they traded or released Johnson before June 1.

From Nfl.com:

Feb. 13: All signs point to the Atlanta Falcons wanting to keep Chris Redman, according to The Atlanta Journal-Constitution. Redman's late-season play may draw interest from other teams around the league, meaning the Falcons might have to add another year or pay more than anticipated in a new contract. Redman signed a one-year deal with the Falcons last offseason.

-- Dolphins Release Zach Thomas --
Thu Feb 14, 2008 --from FFMastermind.com
SportsTicker reports the Miami Dolphins have released starting MLB Zach Thomas, who suffered through an injury-plagued 2007 season. The 34-year-old suffered a concussion in September and missed two games. After returning to play in the Dolphins' next three games, he was in an automobile accident which left him with recurring migraines. A seven-time Pro Bowl selection, Thomas recorded 52 tackles and one sack last season. For his career, he has 982 total tackles, more than any linebacker in the Hall of Fame. Thomas was drafted in the fifth round of the 1996 draft out of Texas Tech. He led the Dolphins in tackles with 165 during his rookie season despite missing two games with ankle and shoulder injuries. Thomas is one of three players to record 100 or more tackles in each of his first 10 seasons in the NFL. He was selected to his seventh Pro Bowl in 2006, tied for the third most Pro Bowl appearances in club history. Thomas' release means LB Channing Crowder, who led the team with 78 tackles in an injury-shortened season, will likely fill in as the team's middle linebacker unless the Dolphins address the position when free agency starts at the end of the month, or in April's draft

  • -- Colts Ready to Franchise Dallas Clark --
    Thu Feb 14, 2008 --from FFMastermind.com
  • AP reports Indianapolis Colts president Bill Polian reiterated Thursday that he was ready to put the franchise tag on TE Dallas Clark if a deal is not completed by Feb. 21. Clark has played an increasingly larger role in Indy's offensive success the past few seasons. "It's too early to say because there's nothing going on that right now," Polian said. "But you have to presume you're going to use it."

  • -- Redskins Restructure Cooley's Contract --
    Thu Feb 14, 2008 --from FFMastermind.com
  • Fox Sports reports the Washington Redskins have reworked the contract of TE Chris Cooley to gain salary cap relief. The Redskins converted an $11 million roster bonus Cooley was scheduled to receive into guaranteed money. The move is believed to have lowered Cooley's 2008 cap number from a team-high $12.2 million to $4.4 million. Other highly-paid Redskins are expected to accept restructured contracts as Washington works to get under the 2008 projected salary cap of $116 million by February 28.

Seahawks Add Free Agent Guard Mike Wahle

Seahawks signed G Mike Wahle to a multi-year contract. Wahle isn't the borderline Pro Bowler he once was, but will only be 31 this season and knows coach Mike Holmgren's offense. He figures to battle Mansfield Wrotto and Chris Gray to start at right guard.

Fargas signs 3-year contract with Raiders

The Raiders re-signed running back Justin Fargas on Wednesday in a move that resolves one of their most pressing issues long before training camp opens.

Fargas, 28, signed a three-year, $12 million contract that includes $6 million guaranteed this year, agent Stephen Baker said. Fargas could earn as much as $14 million by reaching some performance levels.

San Jose Mercury News - Fargas signs 3-year contract with Raiders

Bye bye Jordan and Rhodes, and like it says in the article, doesn't look like the Raiders are interested in trying to draft McFadden. I am hoping for Dorsey or Ellis.

Close but no cigar coach. Add 1 or 2 yds/carry to SA or Mendenhall/Stewart draft pick. He'll line up beside Walter Jones, Sims will move to the right side and compete with Wroto. Gray has 1 year left in his contract and may be kept because he's the backup centre

SI.com - NFL - Wahle agrees to terms with Seattle - Thursday February 14, 2008 5:00PM

This is a huge signing for Seattle and will definately impact their draft strategy. I could now see them picking a TE in rd 2. They also signed Washingtons ex QB coach to replace Zorn

Seahawks add LG Wahle, QB coach Lazor

They still have some work to do on the OLine, but not anything near as serious
