Wow, that's 1 big list

Leftwich, Harrington, Dunn, Horn, Finneran, Brookings, etc .... I saw some rumblings about Crumpler but this article says he'll be staying. It's gonna be interesting tomorrow
That could be a big overhaul, should be interesting indeed.

Hmmm.... So Dunn is not Done. Maybe they will trade him (heard rumors) or he will re-sign with a hometown discount.

There's some chatter on the 'Hawk boards due to the Mora connection. I'm not too sure though. Seattle has about 10 mil in 08 cap left and about 35 mil left for 09. Possible I guess

ets: they could get about 2 more with a SA rework or 4 more with a June 1 SA cut. however they still have some of there own to take care of 1 way or another 1st. Locklear, Trufant, Hackett, .....

Buccaneers re-signed Michael Bennett to a multi-year contract.

A surprising move that suggests Michael Pittman won't be back. Bennett only earned 46 touches after he joined the team via trade, but the Bucs probably like his speed as a complement to Earnest Graham's tough running style. Still, Bennett is only insurance. We doubt this move will prevent Tampa from acquiring another back, and Bennett isn't guaranteed anything this year

Marvin Harrison underwent arthroscopic surgery on his right knee last month, and the Colts aren't sure he'll be ready for training camp.

GM Bill Polian says Harrison will be ready for the opener and that "all the news is good" but that doesn't compute. Harrison's left knee is actually the one that kept him out all year, and that remains the problem. Polian said it's still "healing" and Harrison won't do much in camp. If Harrison can't show he's healthy in camp, the Colts will have a tough decision to make

NFL | Spygate spawns another lawsuit
Fri, 15 Feb 2008 13:40:41 -0800

SportingNews.com reports former St. Louis Rams S Willie Gary has joined a lawsuit against the New England Patriots Friday, Feb. 15, seeking refunds for 2002 Super Bowl tickets, according to The Cincinnati Enquirer. Gary, a group of two Kentucky lawyers and a Cincinnati ticket broker are charging that the Patriots cheated in the 2002 Super Bowl, so all 72,922 people who attended the game should get their money back. Gary is also asking for each member of the Rams Super Bowl team to receive $25,000, the difference between the bonuses paid to members of the winning team and the losing team.

Broncos | R. Smith details
Fri, 15 Feb 2008 14:57:34 -0800

The Associated Press reports the Denver Broncos provided some salary cap relief by placing WR Rod Smith (hip) on the reserve/retired list Friday, Feb. 15. Despite the move by the team, Smith can still return to the Broncos, provided he recovers from hip surgery. "If it turns out that he can contribute later, I'm sure they'd welcome him back," Smith's agent Tom Mills said Friday, Feb. 15. "It just gives them flexibility for life without him." Smith is scheduled to make $1.5 million in 2008.

Ravens | McNair plans to return as starter in 2008
Fri, 15 Feb 2008 08:39:15 -0800

Mike Preston, of the Baltimore Sun, reports Baltimore Ravens QB Steve McNair (shoulder) is focused on getting completely healthy and returning as the team's starting quarterback for 2008. "Being a competitor, I understand that people are always going to put something, some name out there," McNair said in response to speculation about his possible retirement and that the Ravens might trade for Philadelphia Eagles QB Donovan McNabb. "I'm not into speculation, I'm into reality. If it happens, then I'll deal with it. But as of right now, my only focus is getting my shoulder ready for the season. I have confidence in myself and in my teammates. If I didn't, I would not come back." McNair's injured shoulder is almost 100 percent healthy, and he has nearly full range of motion.

Agent: Titans plan to franchise DT Haynesworth by deadline

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- The Tennessee Titans will slap defensive tackle Albert Haynesworth with a franchise tag by Thursday's deadline, but will keep working to sign the All-Pro to a long-term deal, his agent said Friday.

Agent Chad Speck said he talked with Titans general manger Mike Reinfeldt on Friday and that both sides are working on a long-term contract for Haynesworth. Speck said he doesn't anticipate a deal being completed before the Thursday deadline for teams' to designate franchise player

"Mike confirmed to me that he will use the franchise tag on Albert but is committed to trying to get a deal done by July 15," Speck wrote in an e-mail. "I spoke with Albert today, and he is encouraged that talks have resumed."

Foster's days with Panthers appear to be numbered

The team is considering either trading or releasing Foster, which would save them $4.75 million under the salary cap.

The Panthers have spoken to several teams about the possibility of dealing Foster and are shopping the running back. The team apparently believes Foster has value and would prefer to get some compensation for him.

Walsh Lawyer: Protect My Client

By DAVE GOLDBERG
AP Football Writer
NEW YORK (AP) -- The lawyer for former New England Patriots employee Matt Walsh said his client is willing to turn over videotapes he made for the team if the NFL guarantees Walsh protection from lawsuits or other legal action.

Attorney Michael Levy said that to date, the NFL's initial proposals are not sufficient protection for Walsh, who is said to have taped the St. Louis Rams' walkthrough practice the day before they played the Patriots in the 2002 Super Bowl. The Patriots won 20-17.

"Under our proposal, Mr. Walsh is only protected if he in good faith is truthful. And he will be," Levy told The Associated Press on Friday in a telephone interview from his office at the Washington law firm of McKee Nelson.

"The NFL's proposal is not full indemnification. It is highly conditional and still leaves Mr. Walsh vulnerable. I have asked the NFL to provide Mr. Walsh with the necessary legal protections so that he can come forward with the truth without fear of retaliation and litigation. To best serve the interest of the public and everyone involved, I am hopeful that the NFL will do so promptly."

so Walsh does have tapes...

  • -- Cowboys Interested in Zach Thomas --

    Fri Feb 15, 2008 --from FFMastermind.com
  • The Dallas Morning News reports the Cowboys may be interested in adding former Dolphins MLB Zach Thomas, who grew up in Pampa, Texas, went to Texas Tech. According to two sources, the Cowboys have had discussions with Thomas' agent, Drew Rosenhaus, about bringing the veteran linebacker in for a visit after the NFL scouting combine concludes Feb. 26. The Dolphins released Thomas on Thursday in a salary-cap move as new executive vice president of football operations Bill Parcells looks to rebuild a team that went 1-15 in 2007. Thomas played in only five games last season because of the effects of a concussion and failed to reach 100 tackles for the first time in his 12-year career. Rosenhaus said Thomas is healthy and cleared to play.
  • -- Zach Thomas' Options May be Limited --
    Sat Feb 16, 2008 --from FFMastermind.com
  • The Palm Beach Post, citing the NFL Network, reports former Miami Dolphins MLB Zach Thomas plans to visit the New Orleans Saints next week and the Dallas Cowboys the following week. Thomas, 34, is looking forward to a fresh start with a new team in contention for the Super Bowl. But Thomas, who missed 11 games last season with head and neck injuries, might discover his options are limited. "I don't sense there's going to be a lot of a market for this guy," said one longtime NFL observer. Of the 17 teams that finished at .500 or better, New Orleans, which finished 8-8 a season after playing in the NFC title game, seems to be one of the few with questions at middle linebacker. Saints starting MLB Mark Simoneau, 31, averaged just 4.4 tackles in 16 starts last season, compared with more than 10 for Thomas when he was able to play. Simoneau, at 6-foot, 245 pounds, also doesn't offer a considerable size upgrade from the 5-foot-11, 228-pound Thomas. "They have a need there," the NFL source said of the Saints. "The Saints are your best shot." The Cowboys, who play a 3-4 defense, tend toward fast, athletic linebackers, but HC Wade Phillips also has a history of playing smaller linebackers in the middle. Other teams have been mentioned as possible suitors, including New England, Indianapolis and San Diego. But none seems to be a good fit for Thomas. The Patriots prefer big linebackers who can go up against offensive guards. The Colts are happy with defensive captain MLB Gary Brackett and haven't shown a history for bringing in aging veterans. San Diego has some young, talented inside linebackers with size.
