| Bloggin' Outlaw Premium Member Moderator | Some Of The Major Injuries In Week 9 Games Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Chad Johnson, Kansas City Chiefs running back Larry Johnson and Denver Broncos quarterback Jay Cutler were among the high-profile players forced to the sidelined by injuries Sunday. Chad Johnson appeared to suffered the most serious injury, getting carted off the field on a stretcher with 1:53 remaining after taking a hit by Buffalo Bills safety Donte Whitner. Johnson had a CAT scan performed at the hospital, which turned out negative. Doctors determined he was well enough to fly home with the team. Bengals coach Marvin Lewis said his star receiver had movement in all his extremities. "He has movement in his body; arms, fingers, legs," Lewis said. "He never lost consciousness." Larry Johnson also was carted off the field after suffering a lower right leg injury against the Green Bay Packers. Johnson suffered the injury with about eight minutes remaining in the fourth quarter when he was tackled by linebacker A.J. Hawk. The team released a statement that said Johnson has an ankle sprain and will be re-examined on Monday. "Larry Johnson has a right foot injury and it's being X-rayed," coach Herman Edwards said. "We don't know the extent of it." Johnson rushed for 53 yards and a touchdown and caught three passes for 42 yards and a TD. Cutler left the game against the Detroit Lions after suffering what the Broncos announced was a lower left leg contusion in the second quarter. With 13:26 remaining in the second quarter, Cutler was sacked by Lions defensive tackle Shaun Rogers. As he was falling to the ground, Cutler got his leg caught between a pair of converging defenders. Denver running back Travis Henry also left the game in the third quarter with an undisclosed injury and did not return. Minnesota Vikings quarterback Tarvaris Jackson also was knocked out of his game against the San Diego Chargers in the second quarter. He suffered a head injury . Jackson, who missed last week's game with a finger injury, was carted off the field and replaced by Brooks Bollinger. Atlanta Falcons running back Jerious Norwood suffered a right ankle injury against the San Francisco 49ers. Norwood initially hurt the ankle in the first quarter, but he re-aggravated it in the third quarter and went to the sidelines for good. "I am not sure right now (about the extent of the injury)," Falcons coach Bobby Petrino said. "I just know he was not able to return to the game." | Outlaw | Ahman Green, RB HOU According to the Houston Chronicle, Texans RB Ahman Green's right knee forced him out of another game Sunday against the Raiders. "I hurt my knee against Kansas City, and it hasn't been right since," said Green, who left midway through the second quarter. "I feel like I've been playing with a flat tire all season. A car doesn't run right with a flat tire. Eventually, I'll get it fixed, but I don't think it'll be until after the season." Looks like he wont be worth playing the rest of the year. Look elsewhere |
