Jags D Loses MLB Mike Peterson For An Extended Period

The Jacksonville Jaguars have played without seven starters already this season. The eighth one might be tougher to replace than any of the others. The Jaguars (7-3) will be without middle linebacker Mike Peterson for several games and possibly the rest of the season, leaving them with the difficult task of replacing their top tackler and defensive leader.

Broken Hand.

X-rays and a MRI showed the thumb wasn't broken.

Giants Lose LB Kiwanuka and RB Jacobs Has A Hamstring Injury

For the first time this season, injuries are going to force New York Giants coach Tom Coughlin to juggle his starting lineup at more than one position. Not only was strongside linebacker Mathias Kiwanuka likely lost for the season with a broken left leg in the 16-10 win over the Detroit Lions on Sunday, starting halfback Brandon Jacobs was knocked out with a pulled left hamstring.

Vikes RB Adrian Peterson Like Out For his Week.

The Minnesota Vikings will probably be without star running back Adrian Peterson for at least another week. Peterson was sent to work out in a swimming pool on Monday for continued rehab on his injured right knee, but coach Brad Childress said he didn't expect Peterson to be ready for the next game against the New York Giants.

No real surprise here. With Chester Taylor running well there is no rush to bring AD back .

Vikings say Peterson a 'long shot' to play vs. Giants

Seems ESPN was a little premature. As a Raiders fan I would love to see JRock start some games this season so we can evaluate what we have with him and if we need to look elsewhere in the off-season. I would like to see the same thing happen with Bush as well. In reality though, it is going to be hard for these guys to find success behind that horrid O-line.

Quote:
An ESPN report Sunday said rookie quarterback JaMarcus Russell likely will start for the Raiders against the Denver Broncos on Dec. 2.

"That's a premature report," Raiders coach Lane Kiffin said. "It's news to me, at least."

Matt Hasselbeck said Sunday his ribs were so sore from getting hit while shredding the Bears, he needed sympathy at home from his wife. Mike Holmgren said Hasselbeck is unlikely to practice this week before Seattle (6-4) takes its NFC West lead to St. Louis (2-8) on Sunday, but he will start against the Rams.

Broncos wide receiver Javon Walker expects to resume workouts fully this week and possibly return for Sunday's game against the Chicago Bears, according to a report Tuesday on The Rocky Mountain News' web site. Walker's impending return is good news for the upstart Broncos (5-5), who have won two straight games and moved into a first-place tie with the San Diego Chargers in the AFC West.

Indianapolis Colts Pro Bowl wide receiver Marvin Harrison likely will miss Thursday's game against the Atlanta Falcons, the Indianapolis Star reported Tuesday on its web site. Harrison, who suffered a bruised left knee against the Denver Broncos on September 30, missed his fourth straight game in Sunday's 13-10 win over the Kansas City Chiefs. "We're hoping (Harrison will return) this week," Colts coach Tony Dungy told the newspaper. "Realistically, maybe Jacksonville (on December 2), but we'll see."

Falcons Will Start Harrington On Turkey Day Bout

It marked the third time that coach Bobby Petrino has turned to Harrington. Petrino, who demoted Harrington in Week 7, had little choice after Byron Leftwich missed practice with a bruised tailbone.
"We took X-rays, and it's not a fracture," Petrino said. "He couldn't participate at all today."
Harrington will start Thursday night when Atlanta (3-7) hosts Indianapolis (8-2), but Petrino sidestepped a question about his plans for the rest of the season.

Flip, Flop, Flip, Flop.....

Steelers Polamalu and Holmes Are Doubtful This Week

Steelers strong safety Troy Polamalu and wide receiver Santonio Holmes seem certain to miss at least one game and possibly more with injuries from a surprise loss to the New York Jets. Polamalu sprained a knee and Holmes injured ankle ligaments during a 19-16 overtime loss Sunday, one of the NFL's biggest upsets this season. Both are listed as doubtful for Monday night's home game against Miami (0-10).

Ravens DE Trevor Price May Miss The Rest Of The Season

Baltimore Ravens defensive end Trevor Pryce has a severe pectoral tear and will probably be out for the remainder of the season. "It's very likely that Trevor may be done for the year," coach Brian Billick said during his weekly radio show Tuesday night. "We're going to miss Trevor."

Tough break for the Ravens. They just got him back from an injury 3 weeks ago.

49ers | A. Smith may need surgery
Tue, 20 Nov 2007 18:33:32 -0800

Len Pasquarelli, of ESPN.com, reports San Francisco 49ers QB Alex D. Smith (shoulder, forearm) may need shoulder surgery. According to sources close to Smith, Dr. James Andrews said the shoulder separation was not significantly improved, and might actually be worse in some ways, than when he initially viewed the original MRI of the injury three weeks ago. Smith will likely need at least two more weeks of rest and rehabilitation, after which time he will be re-evaluated.

Rumor

I am reading that Texans RB Ahman Green may be headed to Injured Reserve, if the Texans decide to activate Rookie RB Darius Walker. Now doesn't get all excited as this only really has fantasy impact on Green owners in most cases. But if you are in a dynasty league with huge rosters he may be worth a flyer as the job security in the Texans backfield isn't all that great. He may not even be available in some leagues but he is in my fantasy.com leagues.
