Last week the news thread was outstanding with breaking news and injury updates. Not only did helpful Sports Outlaw posters contribute news for the benefit of everyone, but they updated each others stories. The news poured in fast and furious and we were on top of everything, it was inspirational. I would like to thank all the contributors and point out that many of them also made major contributions to the Sunday Game Day thread.

Adam Teicher, of The Kansas City Star, reports Kansas City Chiefs RB Larry Johnson (foot) is not expected to play Week 13.

LAKE FOREST, Ill. -- Chicago Bears running back Cedric Benson will miss the remainder of the season with an injury to his lower left leg that will require surgery.

"A tough break," Bears coach Lovie Smith said Monday. "We'll miss him."

Smith would not disclose what Benson's injury was, only to say it was season-ending and needed surgery.

Broncos | A. Hall plays Week 12

Bill Williamson, of The Denver Post, reports Denver Broncos RB Andre Hall (ankle) played Week 12. Hall was injured on the first play and head coach Mike Shanahan said he did not know how long he would be out. Shanahan said Hall could possibly play Week

Bill Williamson, of The Denver Post, reports Denver Broncos RB Selvin Young (knee) did not play Week 12. The team hopes Young will be available to play Week 13.

Bill Williamson, of The Denver Post, reports Denver Broncos RB Travis Henry (knee) has missed the past three games with a knee injury but Henry said he expects to play Week 13.

-If Stokley doesn't play that is good news for Javon Walker owners.

The Miami Dolphins activated running back Ricky Williams on Monday after welcoming the 2002 NFL rushing champion back from a 1 1/2 -year suspension. To make room on the roster, the team waived running back Samkon Gado. The Dolphins claimed Gado off waivers from the Houston Texans in October.

I am updating this story, I am sad to reports that ESPN Sports Radio reported just this morning that Redskins Safety Sean Taylor has died from his injuries as a result of a gunshot wound. All our condolences go out to the friends and family. This is a sad day for the entire Sports Outlaw family.

The Newark Star-Ledger reports Brandon Jacobs (hamstring) is unlikely to play in Week 13.


Coach Mike Holmgren confirmed Monday that D.J. Hackett re-injured the same ankle that cost him the first six games of the season Sunday. Hackett is expected to miss at least two weeks with the injury.

At his Monday press conference, coach Brian Billick wouldn't dismiss the possibility that Todd Heap's hamstring injury may be season ending.

Bears RB Cedric Benson Cedric Benson will undergo surgery for a fractured leg near his ankle. He will have a plate inserted which makes the injury more complex.

The Bengals are not likely to activate RB Chris Perry (ankle, leg) from the PUP list by Wednesday's deadline.

Perry has always looked great as the change of pace guy to Rudi....When healthy. But health has not been Perry's forte for quite awhile. He has been PUPed so far this year. Usually The Bengals are keenly awaiting Perrys' return as the alternatives were bleak. But Kenny Watson has stepped up his game several notches making it much easier for the Bengals to allow Perry more time to recoop.

The Bears are hopeful that CB Nathan Vasher (groin) will be able to play in Week.

This could be a big boost for the Bear D as Vasher has missed eight weeks. He reportedly had a painfree week of practice last week.

During a weekly radio segment, Jeff Garcia (back) said "I’m not at a point now where I can even throw the ball yet."

Garcia is receiving treatment on his back and did not sound optimistic about his chances to play this week. "I’m not going to put the organization or myself in a bad situation if I can’t move." The Bucs will decide between Bruce Gradkowski or Luke McCown if Garcia is unable to play.

This is very bad news for Tampa or any Garcia owners
