| Bloggin' Outlaw Premium Member Moderator | I would have to wonder as to how valuable this thread is at this point to most of you from a fantasy viewpoint? Maybe you feel the info would still valuable to have here just for vbookie or other betting considerations. We have a postseason FF tourney going and continuing the news would be useful for those participating. 2008 Sports Outlaw Playoff Battle What about the GameDay thread? I think the News Thread continues to be useful and the Gameday thread might not be needed anymore?? Come post in this thread if you have any thoughts and ideas on this. |

| Bloggin' Outlaw Premium Member Moderator | Steelers RB Fast Willie Parker Goes on IR Willie Parker, the NFL's leading rusher when he broke his right leg Thursday night in St. Louis, was officially lost for the season when the Pittsburgh Steelers placed him on the injured reserve list Monday. Not much fantasy impact now but it was big when he went down early last week. Now we have a Davenpoop powered Steelers in the playoffs. Steelers place Parker on injured reserve |

| Bloggin' Outlaw Premium Member Moderator | Cowboys Likely To Rest Starters As Tony Romo's backup, Brad Johnson has been limited to handoffs and kneel-downs in a few games this season. But with the Cowboys having clinched the No. 1 seed in the NFC, there's little reason for Romo to play every down -- or to throw every pass -- in the regular-season finale Sunday at Washington. With seed clinched, Cowboys not likely to rely on starters |

| Truth Addict Premium Member Moderator | Brodie Croyle (hand) is considered "questionable" for Week 17. "I’m hoping he can play this week," Chiefs coach Herm Edwards said. "Another week of him playing will help him and help us to evaluate." Edwards added that he isn't "going to panic" about Croyle's inability to stay healthy, but the Chiefs don't figure to hand Croyle the starting job next season. Source: Kansas City Chiefs Of interest is the last comment about Croyle not being handed the starting job next season. This is a change in message from the Chiefs. Keep your eyes on this during the off season for any free agent moves. Herm needs to win now so don't look for the Chiefs to make any more investments in "the future". For Edwards the future is next season. You should see a significant FA signing this off season. |

| Truth Addict Premium Member Moderator | Jay Cutler had his leg wrapped after Monday night's loss to the Chargers. Cutler was pressured all night by the Chargers, but it's likely that Cutler suffered the injury while sliding to avoid a tackle at the end of a short scramble. He seemed to be in pain afterwards, but played through it. He expects to be fine for Sunday's season finale. Source: Denver Post |

| Truth Addict Premium Member Moderator | Tavaris Jackson not a lock as starter next season. Brad Childress admits that he will evaluate Tarvaris Jackson after the season before deciding if he'll be the unquestioned starter next year. Childress has said similar things all year, but it's fairly obvious that Jackson's limitations have been exposed the last two weeks. For all the winning Jackson has done, his mechanics are not NFL-level and he's accounted for more turnovers than touchdowns. He should probably face some competition. Source: Minneapolis Star-Tribune Another team with major questions at quarterback. This is another team that likely will make a play for a seasoned starter to help shift the defensive focus from the running game which will be elite next year showcasing Purple Jesus. |

| Truth Addict Premium Member Moderator | Larry Johnson (foot) for their season finale The Chiefs lost a team record eight straight games after L.J. broke his foot on November 4. Herm Edwards said Monday that the progress he'd made since "was good for a while, but it hit a plateau." L.J. was not effective before the injury, averaging only 3.5 yards per carry. After the Chiefs irresponsibly dumped an NFL record 416 carries on him in 2006, there's reason to believe Johnson will never be the same bruising breakaway threat he was from 2004-2005. The mysterious new injury only has clouded his status further. Source: Kansas City Star Reading the tea leaves here LJ owners should be interested in off season developments in the Chiefs organization. Now keep in mind there is a possibility LJ is stretching this injury (wild speculation on my part) in order to ride out this trainwreck of a season without any further injury. If that is indeed the case you could trade for LJ at bargain prices in keeper leagues. BUT buyers beware! This is eerily similiar to what happened to once fantasy football machine Shaun Alexander. So a downward spiral is possible but unlikely given LJ's age and regulated carries over the course of his 5 years. |

| Truth Addict Premium Member Moderator | Raiders placed RB Justin Fargas on injured reserve, ending his season. Fargas' career year couldn't have come at a better time, though it would've helped if he'd stayed healthy throughout. The Raiders clearly want him back, and the most likely scenario is him re-signing for a year or two to compete with Michael Bush. He's more valuable in Oakland than most places, although Fargas seems tailor made for zone blocking schemes. Source: Sacramento Bee Interesting twist of fates for the Raider backfield. Fargas was once the odd man out and now has a legit shot at being "the guy". I warn all Fargas loyalists to remember that Michael Bush was the best runningback in college football before his freak injury. And he's now had a full year of rehab with NFL caliber doctors so there stands a huge chance he is next years "WOW" sleeper. Stay tuned! |

| Truth Addict Premium Member Moderator | Raiders placed QB Daunte Culpepper on injured reserve A quadriceps injury Culpepper came down with in Week 12 ultimately ended his season. Culpepper's yards-per-attempt remained solid in Oakland, but he still took too many sacks and didn't stay healthy. An impending free agent, Culpepper is likely to catch on elsewhere as a backup. Source: Sacramento Bee John Clayton is reporting that Kiffin will keep McCown around to compete with Jamarcus Russell next season. Culpepper has plenty of other options to start given the large but shallow pool of soon-to-be-available proven starters at QB. Places like Atlanta spring to mind. |

| Truth Addict Premium Member Moderator | Warrick Dunn doesn't intend to retire after the season. "This is not the way I think anyone should go out," the 33-year-old Dunn said. "I'll definitely come back next year and play football." A new coaching staff could push Dunn and his $4 million salary for 2008 out the door, however. He's likely to at least be asked to restructure his contract. Source: Atlanta Journal-Constitution I love Dunn as a person and for what he's done for the game. You have to root for the guy. But his affectiveness has been suspect to say the least recently. Maybe a new coaching shift will bring him back to a respectable level. It would appear he'd restructure rather than test the FA market at 33 years old. |

| Outlaw | Greg Jennings (ankle) missed Packers practice for the second straight day on Thursday and is not expected to play in Week 17. Rookie James Jones, who quietly has 45 catches for 662 yards and two scores in his first year, is almost certain to see a full complement of snaps against the Lions' beatable secondary. |
