Dolphins RB Ronnie Brown Goes Down With A Knee Injury

Third-year tailback Ronnie Brown, who has represented the bulk of the Miami Dolphins' offense so far in 2007, will undergo an MRI exam Monday morning to determine the extent of a right knee injury that forced him from Sunday's 49-28 loss to the New England Patriots.

Let's hope this isn't too serious as Brown has been one of the better performers on the fantasy scene this year. Fox reporter Jay Glazer says Brown fears a Torn ACL, the MRI will tell the tale.

Byron Leftwich Starts For The Falcons But Injures Ankle

Byron Leftwich, making his first start for the Atlanta Falcons since joining the club a month ago, went down with an injured right ankle on his first series of the third quarter Sunday against the New Orleans Saints on Sunday.

A high ankle sprain is usually considered a 2-4 week injury. The MRI will give us a better idea.

Texans QB Matt Schaub To Undero A MRI On His Hip

Houston Texans quarterback Matt Schaub will undergo an MRI on his hip after leaving Sunday's 38-36 loss against Tennessee for the second time because of a helmet-to-helmet hit by Albert Haynesworth. The Texans trailed 19-7 with a minute left in the first half when Haynesworth delivered the blow on Schaub, who threw incomplete. Haynesworth was whistled for a personal foul.
Schaub lay on the field for several minutes before gingerly jogging off. Team officials said Schaub injured his right hip and he did not return.

Schaub also left the field in the first quarter with an ankle injury, he had x-rays and returned.

Unbelievable...this guy must have nothing left of his ankles with all the breaks and sprains he has had in his limited career. No wonder Jacksonville finally game up.

P.S. somewhere..Joey is saying I told you so.

P.S.S. Can we officially start the Brian Brohm countdown yet??

Report: Ronnie Brown done for the year....

Two sources told the Miami Herald that Brown's injury is serious enough to sideline him for the final nine weeks. An MRI Brown underwent Monday reportedly confirmed the news. Brown was the best running back in the NFL this season (fantasy and reality), so it's a crushing loss. Owners should wait for further confirmation before dropping him. Brown be replaced by Jesse Chatman in the starting lineup, with Patrick Cobbs as his backup, and Lorenzo Booker being active finally. Oct. 22 - 1:11 pm et

Brandon marshall must have celebrated a little after the win.

ENGLEWOOD - Denver Police say Broncos wide receiver Brandon Marshall was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence early Monday morning.

Police say Marshall was pulled over in downtown Denver shortly after 2 a.m. His arrest came hours after the Broncos defeated the Pittsburgh Steelers 31-to-28 in Denver.

Marshall was released and issued a summons.

Broncos team officials said they were aware of the arrest but had no comment.

According to a report on HBO's "Real Sports," Marshall and his cousin were partying on New Year's Eve and reportedly started a confrontation with suspected gang members. Those people are accused of later shooting and killing Broncos cornerback Darrent Williams.

Andre Johnson Still Out

As has been expected, looks like another missed game for Texans Andre Johnson. Johnson still doesn't have full range in the knee, and it is highly unlikely that it will suddenly come back this week.

Tavaris jackson Fractures Finger On Throwing Hand

Jackson has what's called an avulsion fracture in the index finger on his right hand, where a ligament or muscle tendon has stretched and pulled off a tiny piece of the bone. Jackson was wearing a small splint on the finger in the locker room on Monday, and said he injured it in the third quarter when he hit his hand on another player's arm and then reinjured it near the end of the game.

Supposedly, this is an injury that Jackson can play with, providing the swelling goes down, and the coach says he is still the starter if healthy enough to play.

Falcons Lose Another OT to the IR - Renardo Foster

Not much else to say to this other than I feel a little sorry for any quarterback playing behind this offensive line that started the season off bad, only to get worse as players are dropping like flies.

Jags RB MJD Suffers "slight' Knee Sprain

Jacksonville Jaguars running back Maurice Jones-Drew suffered a sprained left knee late in Monday's 29-7 loss to the Indianapolis Colts. Jones-Drew was hurt with 1:01 left in the game after being tackled by Kelvin Hayden on a five-yard pass from backup quarterback Quinn Gray.
Coach Jack Del Rio said Jones-Drew had a "little sprain on his knee. ... He's going to be a little tender but we will know more tomorrow."

Of course we will keep an eye on this.

Jags QB Garrard Sprains Ankle, May Miss 2 Weeks

Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback David Garrard left Monday night's 29-7 loss to the Indianapolis Colts with a sprained left ankle. Garrard limped off the field after he was sacked by Eddie Johnson with 11:42 to play in the second quarter.
Jaguars coach Jack Del Rio said he expects Garrard to be out for a while due to the severity of the sprain.
"You know, its one those deals where we'll know more tomorrow when we see how it responds," Del Rio said. "He had a pretty good sprain on there so I would think that in all likely hood he will be missing some time. Most likely he will be missing some time but I will know more tomorrow."

Del Rio used a vague term like "slight" for MJD's knee sprain but was overflowing with info about Garrards ankle sprain, go figure.ESPN is now saying Garrard will be Out for 2 weeks

Packer WR Koren Robinson returned to full pads practice on Monday. He was a little sore after Mondays practice. Robinson was working with the rotation of WRs that are working with the #1 unit. Robinson has practiced Tuesday in full pads and reportedly looks great. The Packers could have used a two week roster exception to evaluate Robinson but didn't. It looks likely like Robinson will be active this week probably returning kicks.

Packers Injury Update; RB Wynn Has Neck Spasms

Tom Pelissero, Green Bay Press Gazette - [Full Article]

Green Bay Packers RB DeShawn Wynn sat out practice today because of neck spasms. Wynn said he sustained the injury lifting weights Monday and it got worse during practice. Asked whether the injury is anything to be concerned about, he said, "Nah." As for his other RBs, HC Mike McCarthy said Ryan Grant is getting more work than he has in the past, Brandon Jackson is "back in the fold" and Vernand Morency is "kind of limited". McCarthy did not say whether Wynn's injury would impact his status for Monday night's game at Denver. G Junius Coston (ankle) and DL Cullen Jenkins (knee/ribs) also were on the field for at least part of practice, but didn't participate. TE Bubba Franks (knee), CB Frank Walker (knee), CB Will Blackmon (foot) and WR Chris Francies (death in family) were not in attendance

Broncos week: Tuesday practice report

By Greg A. Bedard

Tuesday, Oct 23 2007, 12:46 PM

Green Bay - Here's what went on during Tuesday's practice inside the Hutson Center:
  • RB DeShawn Wynn did not participate in practice. The reason is unknown at this time. The RB rotation was Vernand Morency, Ryan Grant and then Brandon Jackson;
  • CB Frank Walker (knee) and TE Bubba Franks (knee) were not at practice;
  • G Junius Coston (ankle) and DT Cullen Jenkins (knee) were at practice but did not participate;
  • WR James Jones joined CB Charles Woodson as the punt returners;
  • WR Koren Robinson looked rusty in his second practice back from suspension. Most of it had to do with his hands, as he dropped a couple of passes. He seemed to be frustrated after he bobbled a couple of other passes. He pounded the ball at one point, but seemed to be quickly reassured by QB Brett Favre;
  • Favre seemed to have an issue with his right shoulder at one point. He was checked by a trainer and then gave a majority of the snaps to Aaron Rodgers;
  • Jason Spitz was again at RG in front of Tony Moll;
  • The receivers worked some on over-the-shoulder catches. Those should come in handy on those 15-30 yard passes along the sideline which is a big weakness against the Tampa-2 defense, which has given the Packers so much trouble.
