The Florida Times Union and Rotoworld are reporting that Jacksonville quarterback David Garrard may return in two weeks when the Jags play the Tennessee Titans.

That means backup Quinn Gray will make his second start this season against the New Orleans Saints on Sunday

Bills QB? Losman or Edwards?

J.P. Losman lost his job as the Bills' starting quarterback due to injury this season. Now, Trent Edwards can wonder if it's his turn. Coach Dick Jauron gave the quarterback revolving door another spin Monday, a day after Edwards sprained his right wrist and watched from the sideline while Losman stepped in to lead the Bills to a 13-3 win over the New York Jets.

While some other QB situations seem to be coming to light this week. the Bills one remains cloudy. Cloudy in the sense that we don't know if Edwards wrist will be ready to go this week. Cloudy in the sense that Losman may have impressed enough with a comeback win over the Jets when he played in relief this last week.

Eagle D Turns The Corner

When the Philadelphia Eagles were bounced out of the playoffs last January, their once-feared defense got most of the blame. Drew Brees and the New Orleans Saints shredded Philly's D for 435 yards in a 27-24 victory, exposing several weaknesses the Eagles had to address in the offseason to have any hopes of making another postseason run.

Informative article about the Eagle D.

DeShawn Wynn, RB GB

News: On Tuesday, the Packers placed RB DeShawn Wynn on injured reserve with a shoulder injury, ending the rookie's season. Wynn had four touchdowns on 50 carries with 203 rushing yards and 73 receiving yards on nine catches.

Analysis: Wynn was hurt early in the Week 8 game against Denver and did not return. He also hurt his neck in practice a couple of weeks back, but said it felt fine and was able to be active for the Broncos game. Now that he won't play again this season, the Packers' starting RB job will go to Ryan Grant with Brandon Jackson backing him up and Vernand Morency working on third downs.

Bengals RB Kenny Watson is undergoing evaluation for a potential concussion sustained in Sundays game. Lewis says that the concussion subsided some on Monday but the evaluation process is mandatory. We should hear more about it Wednesday.
RB Ahman Green surprised a lot of fantasy owners by not showing up on the playing field last week. He was listed a probable and the league is somewhat upset in it's usual we aren't going to do anything about it way. Green took some reps Friday and apparently his knee swelled up. Ahmans Knee hasn't been right most of the season. While he has come out and played, a heroic gesture, the results showed that he probably should have not been out there. Periodic swelling of his knee has been occurring all along, shades of DD? The question now is do the Texans and Green just rest Greens knee some more. Or is there an O-scope "clean up" procedure in Greens near future? Ron Dayne and Adimchinobe Echemandu are next in line for carries although this order may be reversed as Dayne has been plagued with injury issues himself.

RAIDERS DUMP MIKE WILLIAMS

An industry source tells us that the Oakland Raiders have parted ways with receiver Mike Williams.

Williams, the tenth overall pick of the Lions in the 2005 draft, had been a major disappointment during his time in the NFL. He was traded in the 2007 offseason to the Raiders, and some thought that the reunion with coach Lane Kiffin, who worked with Williams at USC, would turn his career around.

It didn't, and so Williams is done.

He'll be subjected to the waiver system. If he clears waivers, he'll be free to sign with any team.

Williams initially was headed to the draft in 2004, by virtue of the trial court ruling in the Maurice Clarett litigation. But because Williams hired an agent before the Clarett case was reversed, Williams was not permitted to return to USC. He entered the 2005 draft after sitting out a full year of football.

JAGS INK JACKSON

The Jacksonville Jaguars have added veteran defensive tackle Grady Jackson, who was dumped by the Falcons last week.

Jackson signed a one-year deal, and it will become official on Wednesday if he passes a physical.

The 1997 sixth-round pick of the Raiders has played for a variety of teams over the years, and spent 2006 and part of 2007 with the Falcons. He started seven games for Atlanta after suing the team in the offseason for allegedly invading his privacy and defaming him in 2006 as he was trying to land with a new team.

Echemandu has Deep Contusion

October 31 09:44 AM

Texans RB Adimchinobe Echemandu's MRI revealed a deep contusion in his hamstring. His status for Week 9 is unclear at this point. HC Gary Kubiak added that Echemandu would have gotten a bigger workload had he not been injured in Week 8.

Fantasy Spin:
It sounds like if Echemandu is healthy, he will see some significant playing time.

Cox Placed on IR

October 31 09:49 AM

The Buccaneers have placed CB Torrie Cox on injured reserve with a knee injury.

Fantasy Spin:
Sammy Davis will take over as the Bucs' nickel back, which is a bad thing. This could really hurt the Bucs defense if teams go with spread offenses.

Kenny Watson, RB CIN

According to the Cincinnati Inquirer, Bengals RB Kenny Watson did not practice on Wednesday as he continues to recover from a concussion he received in Week 8. Meanwhile, fellow Rudi Johnson did practice and is expected to start in Week 9.

Maybe we can finally get our first Round pick off the benck this weekend )

Jaguars defensive tackle Marcus Stroud practiced as usual Wednesday despite uncertainty about his future. A newspaper and a radio station reported that Stroud is facing a four-game suspension for violating the NFL's steroids and related substances policy. The Florida Times-Union and WJXL-AM in Jacksonville, citing anonymous sources, said Stroud tested positive for banned supplements.

Marcus Stroud is appealing his suspension wanting his second sample tested. This will probably keep him available this week. After that Grandy Jackson will probably see plenty of action for at least a month.

Dominic Rhodes Update

October 31 12:58 PM

Raiders RB Dominic Rhodes will not be released by the team, though he also won't be doing much more than returning kicks.

The team doesn't want the Broncos or Bucs to pick him up, so they will hold on to him. Basically, it looks like Rhodes won't see the field unless LaMont Jordan or Justin Fargas are injured.

i was just going to post this but you beat me to it. if this is true, thats a HUGE hit to the jags. jacksonville wins games by playing tough smashmouth defense, and stroud is at the heart of it and the best player on this team. his loss will be felt throughout the defense and force the offense to try to make more plays too. i immediately move the jags down a couple spots in my rankings. they'll lose a game or two they shouldnt because of this.

BUSH STARTS PRACTICING

Raiders rookie running back Michael Bush, a potential top-ten pick who decided to spend another year in college only to see his leg bend in a direction that it wasn't intended by God to bend, has emerged from the non-football injury list and joined practice, an industry source tells us.

Bush was a fourth-round pick of the Raiders, and many thought he could be the steal of the draft. But Bush hadn't fully healed from the broken leg that ended his college career prematurely, and he spent all of training camp, all of the preseason, and the first eight weeks of the regular season on the NFI list.

The Raiders will now have three weeks to activate Bush or put him on injured reserve. If he is activated, it is likely that the Raiders will consider cutting running back Dominic Rhodes.
