You gone and done it now. You let New England draft this monster.

AFC East quarterbacks drop a collective brick. :taps:

i think it's a crime if Gholston makes it down here, but if he does, he's the obvious pick here

So the beast is off the board...at least they didn't get McFadden here.

Couldn't blame them for going CB here after losing Samuel and Gay.

I was seriously thinking this as well, especially since none have come off the draft board yet.

CB is useless if they can't stop the run or put pressure on the QB.

A run stuffing, pass rushing OLB is just what the Doctor ordered now with the release of Rosevelt Colvin.

49rs got Joe Staley OT last year (1.28) for this pick.
I wonder if they have any regrets now?
... and I wonder if they will have any regrets 3 years from now?

Not sure if Vernon qualifies as run stuffing. He rushes the passer with the best of them, but his inconsistent motor would leads to concerns on him becoming a consistent run stopper at the next level.

agreed. More of a Shawne Merriman type of LB.
I think the Pats would love to have this guy stand up on 1st down and then put his hand down on 2nd or 3rd and long. They love to change looks from play to play.

I chose Gholston also but like I stated for the Jets pick, if McFadden somehow slides here, just go ahead and give the Pats Dallas's 2 first rounders.

On a side note, why has McKelvin been showing up in the first 7 pick selection polls? I realize he's been climbing up the ranks, but he's not really the #1 CB on the board... right?

This is the last slot where the "big 7" will line up... now it will start getting interesting as teams draft for need vs. best available player.

Other than Cromartie, he has been at the top of all cb lists I have seen. Who you do have higher?

this one goes to Mr. Gholston.

Patriots hand the card to the podium...and we move on.

Not that it matters in this context, but I have Talib, Cromartie, Jenkins, and McKelvin, with Flowers from VaTech rounding out my top-5. To each his own, I guess. There's not alot of difference between them.. I'd love to have any of them at pick 23 (Steelers)
