I don't think Campbell or Baker are legit first-rounders. After Matt Jones, I'm farily confident James Hardy in Jax isn't happening. Kenny Phillips could go here, but didn't they pick a safety last year?

Let's go with Purdue TE Dustin Keller.

they are in at least four mock drafts I have seen lately. In fact in two of them Campbell goes much higher. Still, when you get down to this low in the first round...talent between first and second isn't all that great.

I dont like Cambells lazy ass. At all.

I went with Keller in the mock because they need SOMETHING on offense and I thought I could (and did) get a good safety later.

With the choices above, your a fool if you dont draft Phillips.

Campbell doesn't seem to have the work ethic needed for the NFL. Loads of talent, but lacks something mentally. They're OL isn't great, but it isn't bad either. It's not enough to make me go with a lineman in the first round. As much as they could use a receiver, Hardy is not the fit for this team. Personally, I think Keller would be the best pick, but it's hard to pass on Phillps here.

Now thats a man that gets why I went with Keller. But realistically here, Phillips is the choice

They need to target the interior of the defensive line more, but with Balmer gone I selected Campbell. DE trumps safety, in my book, and there are good safeties to be had later.

Phillips gives them a nice young safety combo in Nelson and Phillips. I think he's the choice given the situation.

calais campbell is a softy who has never played to his potential. that doesnt sound like a del rio sort of guy to me. kenny philips is a smashmouth player and would give the jags a dynamic pair of star safeties with him and reggie nelson, a real pair of playmakers. DE is a need, but more of a pass rusher, where campbell is spotty. and i have SS as just about as much of a need.

i originally voted other, but i'll switch my vote to philips if it means anything.

Phillips is free safety, yes?

Would Reggie Smith convert to free or strong?

hes kind of just a defensive back at large. miami played him all over the place, mostly split between free and strong safety. i think he could pretty well fit either spot.

Talked me into it Da_Bomb. When it comes to talent evaluation you are the best. Smashmouth safety/ Phillips it is, sounds like a good fit for this D.
