Draft Commentary

Well, I'd say the draft went as expected up until my pick. I followed Rice all throughout his Rutgers career and simply fell in love with his talent. He's got McGahee ahead of him, but man, it's gonna be hard to deny him for long.

Chris Johnson was my other choice here (the more consensus pick), but I chose Rice due to preference.

And damb you Miller...I was hoping that Bradshaw might go unnoticed until the 2nd round. Looks like I underestimated you guys...

I was just hoping the rookie RB love fest continued while my sleeper fell right through the cracks! Looks like my wish came true!

Seriously, Bradshaw has all the upside IMO of some of the backs taken in the top 5!

Happy to get Kevin Smith, as I like his talent and situation as much as anyone else not named Run-DMC in the top 5. No one has been able to run in Detroit since Barry Sanders (and the police), but I can be patient.

Agree on Bradshaw being a nice pick. Jacobs seems too one-dimensional to keep him from getting more action as the season wears on. He wouldn't have lasted past 2.5 if he was still on the board by my next selection.

Seems like the tide is ready to turn as the next few teams after Hoos went RB and are likely to look at WR this go around. We'll see if we have more risk takers....

I was debating between Mr. Bruce (yes, I love veterans) and Hightower here, and glad that S&S made the decision for me. Not bad in getting the primary backup for an aging RB in the mid-2nd round.

Well that answers a lot, Shipp was cut, looks like Hightower is the primary b/u, nice p/u.

Love getting Chris Johnson, my #2 running back in this draft class.

Needed a receiver and hoping Bryant Johnson can end up the #1 and put up some good numbers in SF.

Waiting to make my 3rd pick, if it doesn't get to me before I go to bed this morning, I will predraft some picks for that pick and the 4th. Hopefully we can knock this out today.

Nice pick in Royal, Miller. I was debating between him and Avery, and leaned toward Avery since I followed him throughout his Houston career. Hopefully he can come back quickly from his injury.

Yep. Normally I hate what you do, which means that you will get drawn into the mediocrity of suckdom with me this year.
