Matt Ryan - Draft Projection - NFL Impact

Matt Ryan

Quarterback - Boston College
  • Height - 6'5"
  • Weight - 218
  • 40 Time - 4.96
2007 Stats:
  • 4,507 passing yards
  • 31 TD's - 19 INT's
  • 59.3 completion %
Draft Projection - Top 10

NFL Impact
Matt Ryan seems to have all the intangibles it takes to be a top NFL signal caller. He has good size, and seems to understand the game well. However, his 19 INT's last year raise a red flag and he went through cold spells on accuracy in college. He has a gunslinger streak to him which is the cause of many of his interceptions. Ryan seems like a safe pick, but not sure if there is the superstar potential you would like if you were going to spend a top 10 pick on him. Ryan may be someone who could slide some come draft day.

I have a hard time seeing this guy fall past #3. I feel that Atlanta and Miami are both highly interested in taking this guy, and also that there will be plenty discussions between now and late April with other teams wanting to trade up for this guy.

Mel Kiper includes this guy in this year's "elite 6", basically putting him in a class that is a clear tier ahead of the remaining players.

The Ravens are looming at #8, and I could easily see this team on the phone looking to move up to #1 if they fee in any way that the Falcons might take Ryan. Just a hunch.

He's definitely gone by Baltimore's pick. I don't think they'll trade up for him though. Ryan will probably end up in Atlanta.

The almost 5.0 speed makes me thing of a statue in the backfield. Id like that speed around the 4.6 to 4.7 range.

I like the attitude he had in college. He's fearless, he works hard, and he brings it every down. A good QB Coach will calm him a bit and smooth out the rough edges.

Im pretty sure Atlanta takes him at #3
