Ted Ginn Jr. - Draft Projection - NFL Impact

Ted Ginn Jr.

Wide Receiver - Ohio State
  • Height - 6'0"
  • Weight - 180
  • 40 Time - 4.30
  • 2006 1st Team All Big-10
  • 2006 2nd Team All American Team
Draft Projection - First Round

NFL Impact - Ted Ginn Jr. will bring sprinters speed to the NFL team that drafts him this April. An electrifying talent that is a threat to take it the distance everytime he touches the ball will likely be a mid first round selection based on the potential that his world class speed gives him. Still a bit raw as a receiver (originally recruited as a CB), Ginn will need to work on his route running to excel at the next level. Ginn also excels as a returner and should see action immediately in this role for the team who drafts him.

What are your thoughts on Ted Ginn Jr? Who could be calling his name in April?

i wish he would have stayed... but that is selfish, and i just wanted him to be playing for osu one last time.

i think he will do fine in the nfl.

he's quick, tough, and has that drive.

I think he could be a nice deepthreat for many teams.

A taller, stonger Joey Galloway. he has some improvement to make in his route running, but his raw measurables are off the chart.

Honestly, I don't think Ginn is as raw as most people think.....he has obvious work to do on his route running, but there simply isn't a much faster WR out there.......in my original mock, I was looking for some line help in St. Louis, as Bulger couldn't stay on his feet at all in the last half of the season.....but with Thomas being the only impact O-lineman coming out, and big ???????'s surrounding a lot of the lineman, I see the Rams being the first potential stop for Ginn.......Bruce is getting too old, Holt's not a rookie anymore, and why not put a burner on what will be the only turf field left next year? If he doesn't go there, I'd expect him to be gobbled up before #19, as the Steelers(to a lesser degree), Jags, and Titans all have either current or future need at that spot.

That right there, if I am a general manager, is not a tag I want to see on a player coming out of college, especially from a top tier university. If the player is coming from a small college, where the coaching talent is much less, then I am less alarmed. But, if it is a player coming from a college such as Ohio State, Michigan, Florida, LSU, Texas, USC......... any of the big schools, that is a player I am quickly leary of.

you ran routes in high school, you ran routes for a top school, for 3 years in college. If you are still not crisp and disciplined in your route running, I am not interested in how fast you are. The NFL if full of guys like that who struggle for a few years, spend some time returning kicks and punts, then exit from the NFL after 4-5 years.

Not saying Ginn is one of those guys, but that comment is just a red flag for me.
