Aaron Rodgers Leaves Practice - Pushing Too Hard?

Despite a sprained right shoulder that limited him to a light workload in practice on Wednesday, quarterback Aaron Rodgers says he'll do whatever it takes to start Sunday's game against Atlanta at Lambeau Field.

Rodgers says he doesn't face any extra pressure to push himself because of the ironman consecutive-starts streak put together by his predecessor, Brett Favre.

"Listen, I want to play every game," Rodgers said. "I don't need that, 'Oh, you've got to play because Brett played 250 in a row.' I don't need that. I have pride in myself. I've played with some serious injuries before, so that's personal pride. I don't need any extra fuel to play."

He could do nothing but make a few handoffs, but is determined to be out on the field. If this wasn't his throwing shoulder I could see it.

He says it has nothing to do with the fact he is following the NFL's ironman, but he clearly seems a little testy about the whole subject, and to me, is pushing it a little hard when it seems he needs to be concerned about getting the shoulder healthy.

Either this injury isn't nearly as bad as they are letting on in these reports, or the Packers are going to look pretty foolish if they let Rodgers out on the field in the condition he appears to be in.

arg, I'm in a tough bind then since I have rodgers, palmer & campbell. Id obviously want to avoid Campbell this week if possible, but I don't think it is with the risks involved with starting one of the other two..

I think its a mental thing with him. I believe it scrambled his marbles to a certain extent with the fans not wanting him. How your QB handles adversity is a big deal, and if this stuff is bothering him as bad mentally as it seems to be, that could be trouble.

Your probably going to want to look at the waiver wire this week for a Qb, or look to pick up Fitzpatrick to cover Palmer.

If he doesn't start the Falcons become a sleeper one week wonder fill in for defenses. Both back-ups are crap.

so far he is doing nothing in practice. Friday will be the practice to pay close attention to. I can't see him playing though, but we should have a good idea on Friday.

McCarthy is saying they are going to evaluate him Sunday before the game before making a decision.

Not good. Even if he plays, it won't be the same Rodgers that we've seen so far.

That is the feeling I have. Really hard to read these coaches lately.

NFL coaches care about one thing and one thing only... making life tough on fantasy football owners.

Rodgers has good, solid parents. His fears are not of inadequacy.

Aaron is just frustrated with his luck.

If I could tell Aaron Rodgers any one thing right now, it would be to just forget the things over which he has no control.

And to never forget how much his life has been blessed.
