Addai surgery Addai Underwent Knee Surgery June 6, 2009, 12:57pm Indianapolis Star - [Full Article] RB Joseph Addai revealed on Friday that he recently underwent arthroscopic knee surgery, which caused him to sit out the start of Colts minicamp. "It's feeling good right now," said Addai, who did not cop to which knee was scoped. Coming of his worst season as a pro, Addai is going through the usual rehab work and the Colts are saying all looks good. The fourth year-back is facing stiff competition for playing time from first-round pick and expected tag team partner Donald Brown.

-- Donald Brown Getting Extra Reps -- The Indianapolis Star reports Colts RB Joseph Addai (right knee) was held out of the OTAs and the mandatory minicamp as he completed his rehabilitation from arthroscopic surgery on his right knee. That meant more work for first-round draft pick RB Donald Brown. Though it's risky to judge a player's performance in no-pads, no-contact workouts, Brown was difficult to ignore. He showed he's still a work in progress as a receiver, but he displayed shiftiness and possesses great acceleration through the line of scrimmage. Thu Jun 11, 2009 --from FFMastermind.com

Holy crap. This situation seems to be becoming more and more favorable for Brown everyday. Is it possible that by August Brown moves ahead of Addai on draft boards and the workload split becomes 60% Brown/ 40% Addai?

Oh it's possible for sure. They didn't draft Brown in the 1st for no reason. Indy is notorious for viewing their RBs as expendable. Faulk, James and now Adai. Adai will not be getting a new contract when it's up and if they think Brown fits better than Adai, they'll use him now. With Adai being a better pass catcher, they may easily decide to use Brown on 1st and 2nd down and Adai on 3rd.
