Addai surgery

Addai Underwent Knee Surgery
June 6, 2009, 12:57pm

Indianapolis Star - [Full Article]
RB Joseph Addai revealed on Friday that he recently underwent arthroscopic knee surgery, which caused him to sit out the start of Colts minicamp. "It's feeling good right now," said Addai, who did not cop to which knee was scoped. Coming of his worst season as a pro, Addai is going through the usual rehab work and the Colts are saying all looks good. The fourth year-back is facing stiff competition for playing time from first-round pick and expected tag team partner Donald Brown.

Good that he got it fixed. That said, If you were thinking of grabbing Addai with out Brown as a handcuff, you better change that plan.

-- Donald Brown Getting Extra Reps --
Thu Jun 11, 2009 --from FFMastermind.com
The Indianapolis Star reports Colts RB Joseph Addai (right knee) was held out of the OTAs and the mandatory minicamp as he completed his rehabilitation from arthroscopic surgery on his right knee. That meant more work for first-round draft pick RB Donald Brown. Though it's risky to judge a player's performance in no-pads, no-contact workouts, Brown was difficult to ignore. He showed he's still a work in progress as a receiver, but he displayed shiftiness and possesses great acceleration through the line of scrimmage.

Holy crap. This situation seems to be becoming more and more favorable for Brown everyday. Is it possible that by August Brown moves ahead of Addai on draft boards and the workload split becomes 60% Brown/ 40% Addai?

Oh it's possible for sure. They didn't draft Brown in the 1st for no reason. Indy is notorious for viewing their RBs as expendable. Faulk, James and now Adai. Adai will not be getting a new contract when it's up and if they think Brown fits better than Adai, they'll use him now. With Adai being a better pass catcher, they may easily decide to use Brown on 1st and 2nd down and Adai on 3rd.

  • -- Addai Health Watch --
    Fri Jun 19, 2009 --from FFMastermind.com
  • Indianapolis Colts RB Joseph Addai admitted recently that he has had arthroscopic surgery on one of his knees (he didn't specify which one), according to PSX. "Got it cleaned out," he said. "It's feeling good right now." Addai got his NFL career off to a strong start, helping to lead the Colts to a Super Bowl title as a rookie in 2006. But injuries, albeit nothing major, have slowed his effectiveness over the last two seasons. He expects that to change this year. So does Indianapolis HC Jim Caldwell. "He's working through a bit of a rehab situation, but he's in fine physical condition," Caldwell said of Addai. "He's been lifting, doing all the things that have been required of him."
