Browns TE Kellen Winslow/Shoulder Injury

The Cleveland area newspapers are reporting Cleveland Browns TE Kellen Winslow (shoulder) is scheduled to undergo an MRI on his shoulder.

We should know more by tomorrow. The Good News??? so far is that it is not the same shoulder injured he last year. Of Course, his status for this week should be monitored by all Winslow owners.

This could be bad news for Winslow owners with a great many teams needing his contributions for that final playoff push, Winslow's been solid all year, a standout on a subpar team, and I personally hopes that it turns out to be nothing serious.

In addition to missing time with the mystery staph infection, he has be a huge disappointment when he did play with the exception of the Thursday night game against Denver. Other than that game, a couple short TD passes, but mostly he was the suck. More a fault of crappy QB play by Anderson and injuries, but just saying..........

If this guy could stay healthy for a couple of seasons, the Browns would have something to build around. He has the talent to be one of the better TEs in the business.

Absolutely. He was great in 06, 07 (and not bad this year when he plays, but not what was expected). I think the Browns made the right call going to Quinn at this point. Give him the rest of the year to gain experience and he will be that much further ahead for next year. They have great talent at the receiving positions, especially if Stallworth could actually stay healthy (long shot) and Edwards can cut down on the drops (could happen). Good OL with potential to be great. Lewis is about done, but Harrison looks like an excellent COP back, so if they can upgrade their main RB, that offense could do some serious damage in the years to come.

What will become of Anderson? I would think he would be of interest to several teams next year. Rams and Niners come to mind. As a Niner fan, I hope Shawn Hill can continue his Jeff Garcia type assent, but I have my doubts. Just don't think he has the arm to be an NFL QB once defenses figure him out.......

Reports now say that the MRI revels no structural damage.

So no surgery is coming but owners will have to keep an eye out this week. It is till a shoulder injury and it could keep Winslow out for awhile. The coach said his availability this week is based on how much soreness he has and the range of motion available.
