  • Adam Jones - West Virginia
  • Antrell Rolle - Miami (FL)
  • Carlos Rogers - Auburn
  • Brandon Browner - Oregon State
These are the guys projected in the first round according Mel Kiper, the draft guru.

Your team is up, you really need a corner, and you are going to take a corner with this pick. Which one do you go after, and why?

Rogers. I know that Rolle is widely considered the best corner in the draft but I was really impressed with Carlos Rogers. Second would be Rolle and then Jones.

Oddly enough, Kiper has Jones going at #6 I believe in his mock, with Rogers being the 3rd Cornerback taken very late in the first round.

I agree with Rogers being the best corner in this draft, not sure if I would have Rolle or Jones at #2. All 3 should be contributors early in their careers and do fine in the NFL. It would be nice to see Rogers going to Dallas with the #20 pick

Jones is a heck of an athlete and Rogers plays in a tough conference, i think it boils down to scheme

everybody is in love with pac-man.

i think it comes from the respect he gets on the field from the other players. I'm going to compare him to Steven Jackson. I know they play different possitions, but the on-field swagger is very similar. And the other players stare at Jones like he's some hot chick with his top off.

Does that make jones the best cb in the draft? No, but that will make him the first cb taken.

I watched Carlos play against Tennessee the second time. He's a hitter. I'd think the Tuna would be hard pressed to pass him up in the middle of the first.

Rolle has something about him also. I think it's the pure athleticism.

Brandon Browner is at the other, other osu. can't say i know anything about him worth anything.

after doing a little research, i think Justin Miller, CB, Jr, Clemson, should be in the top four or five.

so, there. Now we have a top 5. From the list, I still see Rogers as the best fit for Dallas. Combine that guy with a dominant DE/OLB with the #11 pick and I think the Dallas defense is back on top of the NFL in 2005.

Not sure who the other safety will be, but I like the looks of a Roy Williams, Newman, and Rogers secondary.

From that list I would have to take Rolle. He has played very well in every big game that he has had a chance to showcase himself. They say he is a little slow footed and may end up being a safety though.

With the new nfl rules, size is becoming less and less of a benefactor for corners. Brandon Browner isn't even in my top four, he just doesn't have the straight line speed or agility. Pac-Man is #1 for his agility and ridiculous speed. Don't forget, he plays around 200lbs, so despite his height, he won't get pushed around. Carlos Rogers is the next best corner, but will get taken after Antrell Rolle. Either Justin Miller or Bryant McFadden are my next two.

Dallas needs to get merriman with their first pick in the draft and then pray that Thomas Davis is still around with their next pick, in the 2nd round grab Roddy White or the best available Reciever with speed..........and sign a veteran corner that's young and won't cost too much like Dwight Smith, or Gary Baxter.

Look for Dallas to take Brodney Pool with the 20th pick in the first round.

For the Cardinals, if the top 3 rbs are gone at 8 they will take Rolle. Worst case for them is that no WRs are taken in the first 7 picks meaning probably that Rolle, Jones, the 3 backs and the 2 qbs are gone.
