I am curious though......for all of us who voted differently...when the draft is here, and your in that spot, do you have the balls to actually go different than LT? |

Peterson has only had one season and sometimes a player after having a great first season, slumps for two reasons; a) high expectations, b) the defences now know him and have watched enough film to learn how to stop him. Tomlinson has been great pretty much the last few seaons. True dependabilty. If you are looking for risk reward, then take Peterson.
It also all depends on how your league works. If it's the first year and a non-draft league, take Peterson because he will be there for many years. If it's a redraft league, take Tomlinson. |

At worst you take LT number one and he performs as the tenth best. Not the end of the world for your season, and cause to avoid him from then on. |

For me it really depends on the league. I'm in Death From Above this year, so I would take a hard look at who the best receivers are and take whoever I think is up there. I can always pick up an excellent PPR back in the 2nd or 3rd. Won't be LT, but in a WR-heavy league an RB isn't going to make or break your team (unless your supposed #1 really sucks.) |

Death from Above is an animal all its own, but then, sitting in Hollywoodnash's seat in the #1 spot...youve got to compare LT, Moss, and Brady at take who you think is going to be most valuable.
Does LT have the value of a #1 WR? |

Just Kidding. |

Sarge brings up a good point that on paper, it doesn't appear that you can go wrong with any of the top group. However, history tells you that you in fact will go wrong with at least one of these top 5 picks, maybe more. Last year Jackson and Gore were top 5 mortal locks, and if you took them, it didn't turn out so well.
That is why in this case I'm leaning LT, and it's not close. Experience is the reason and the track record I have to go on. AP looked like a STUD!! And should be one this year, but in the end, I only have 14 games to make a judgment on him from, with LT I have so much more. The 2-4 spots in basic scoring are all very close with AP, SJax, and Addai....yes, I have Westy a notch below still. In a ppr, Westy replaces AP in that top 4.
And this isn't saying that I think AP will disappoint, but I'm just not ready to anoint him the King just yet. To be the best, you have to beat the best, something AP has not done yet. | | No fucking way I take Jackson over AD. I wouldn't even consider him over Addai..................but that's just me |

Hell, were I running a defense I'd instruct my ends and backers to take a few late hit penalties just to freak him out. Moss, by extension, is going to play like it's the Super Bowl, which is to say very mediocrely.
If I'm thinking QB, I'm taking Peyton Manning. If I'm thinking WR, then I'm taking Owens, Wayne, Edwards, or Fitz.

Just Kidding. | | At this point I'd consider Ricky as my RB2 were he available in the mid-late rounds. Ronnie, right now, I would take a flier on in the 4th round, just on the chance he might produce big. Last year I wouldn't have touched Ricky in any round and would have gladly taken Ronnie with my first pick. |

As for me busting your chops over the Dolphins and their running game, I only do it cause you appear to be a true fan. it's fun to see the true fans get all fired up. I haven't properly exposed my colors so I can't be chastised yet. |

Donate | Wow, great debate folks!
I am absolutely split here.
First, I somewhat agree with Mojo, AP's running style could very well get him killed sometime.
Second, I know you can't predict injuries....but I am sorry, LT2 scares the hell out of me. He has been a major work horse for so long now...that you can almost feel it coming.
Third, if it is a PPR league, your #1 choice is Westbrook. No, I am not being a homer, the Wr core is still horrible in Philly, so he will BE the offense both rushing and passing. And with Booker there to give him some breathers...he might actually stay healthier this year.
So...my choice.
Stephen Jackson - No. Yes this is a contract year..but the o-line is still not great, and the wr core is aging or bad. I actually fear a St. Louis off regression this year again.
Westbrook - I wish. But no.
So it really does come down to LT2 or AP.
Here is the thing though. If you are drafting #1, it is because you are the big loser in your league quite probably. So you have to make this pick count. You have to get the best you can get. So I have to go LT2 here, for all the stats and production that Da Bomb raised.
That and the QB situation in Minny scares the hell out of me. |

Spot on. | | The one thing that solidifies that point of view in my mind is the OL play of the Patriots during the SB. Everybody's known for years that if you can consistently get to him he's going to crumble. I mean, he's not Marino in that he'll take a hit, get pissed, and make a team bleed just for stepping passed his line of scrimmage. The way the Patriots line played made me honestly worry for Brady, I was almost sure he was going to get seriously hurt. If they continue to play the way they did, Brady's going to get killed. | | Appears?! My man, I've been a Dolfan since I was 3 and any time I take the mental adventure of imagining myself rooting for another team my brain goes: miiiiindfuuuuuck. I bleed aqua and coral and would gladly sign my soul to the devil if it meant I could watch the Fins win a Super Bowl at Dolphin Stadium. You think Miami's a party town? Jesus, the place would be shut down for a week if the Fins pulled that off. |

I jumped all over it and said I would bet whatever he wanted. He laid $20 on it. GAME ON. |
