Packer QB Rodgers Gets Extension

The Packers Make a long Term Commitment to QB Aaron Rodgers. Reportedly a six year deal for $65 million locking Rodgers up through 2014.

Good Move.

I am so excited for Aaron Rodgers. Seriously, there was no one, NO ONE coming into the season with more pressure on his shoulders and he could have tanked because of this. The reason he didn't is quite simple: Rodgers is mentally tough, and the entire GB organization believed in him. It is rare to find an organization that full heartedly believes in a QB that has not started, especially so much that they turn down the greatest QB of all time. GB handled this extremely well. Aaron Rodgers has all the talent in the world, and with a receiving core like he has and with the mental toughness that he has shown, he will be a force to be reckoned with in the NFL.

i personally think this is an AWFUL decision.

i like the guy and think hes done well so far this year, but he has 7 career starts and is only 4-3 lifetime against a relatively easy schedule.

there was absolutely no reason to need an extension less than half of the way through his first season as a starter. play out your freaking contract. good grief.

now watch him be unprepared for the titans this weekend on top of it because he was too busy dreaming of dollar signs all week...

I think it will be the other way around. I think that Aaron Rodgers has the mindset and mental toughness to take this contract as an encouragement to come out and produce. He's going to look at this and say "this proves that there is no doubt that I am the GB QB." No one can dispute that anymore. This is his team and they want him to have it. He's going to come out and play his ass off for this organization because he feels humbled.
