Is there anyone that doesn't scare you away? Peyton Manning? You've got to be shitting me!! You won't draft ANYONE from those teams? Forte isn't worth a shot? What about Gore? Thomas Jones, Cotchery, Coles? Ronnie Brown? Ted Ginn Jr? Ricky Williams? Jeff Garcia? Galloway? Bernard Berrien? Dude, there is a ton of value with these guys and the rounds you can pick them in. |

Its not that I don't think he's good - he is good... but I'm not taking a QB in the 1st round unless its Tom Brady and even then its a stretch. Quote: |

But in general, I'm not looking at the list I mentioned unless the players fall further than expected. I'd rather draft a RB from a team that scores actual touchdowns instead of say, the Chicago Bears. Obviously I'm not saying I'd never draft them - MOJO's list included Randy Moss, Tom Brady etc. but I'm sure he'd take them both in rounds 3 etc. |

I will only avoid a player until I feel like I am getting proper value for them.
And this means multiple things.
I might let a player drop and possibly draft him where I think his value shoudl be.
I might draft a player who has dropped a little and is still above where I think his value should be simply because I think I can turn him via trade. |

In FFB, there are few players out there to totally avoid, just players you shouldn't draft too early. It isn't like FBB where you need to avoid Richie Sexson like the plague. |

For the draft, perceived value means just about as much to me as my actual feelings on the players worth. If I feel this player carries significant trading value and can be a chip I can use to get something I want, I'll take him. Da Bomb is about as good as they get (I know, I keep this up he'll have problems getting his head through the door ) at doing this. He has no problem drafting or trading for a player he may not care for, as long as there market value is strong enough he can get a great return on them. |

Donate | yeah, there really isnt a players to avoid list for me, as long as its late enough. heck last year i had an article that specifically said that people should not draft larry johnson this year or ever again. and then sure enough he slipped a bunch of picks in my league and i drafted him anyway, sweated it out, and made the trade a week or two later. in a league of 12 owners, you can be pretty well assured that at least 1 of the other 11 will like any player on your team a little too much. if you can figure out who that is and take advantage of it, youre golden. |

I won't touch Kevin Jones, no matter who he ever signs with. I will avoid Heap as well. Just some examples. It is one reason I won't touch Walker either, until he can get through a full season in one piece. But other wise, I have my value, which is usually different than most...and if the player is where I value them....I will jump...otherwise, someone else can over pay. |

To the topic at hand.. this season is shaping up to be different than the past 6-7 years where you had a handful of 5-6 RB's that were arguably viable with the first 2 to 3 picks.
In '08, there is LT, AP, and then a huge logjam of like 8 guys that you can flipflop around to fill out the first round. To be honest, if I'm sitting at the #3 pick, I'm taking Tom Brady and it's not even close. Go look at any fantasy service from last season and you'll find that Brady outscored everyone else, regardless of position, by 90 points or more. I'll even concede that he won't approach 50 TD's in 2008; I'll even forecast a 20% drop-off in TD production, which leaves him with a projected 40 TD's and single digit INT's.
So my answer to this question is that the player(s) I'd avoid taking are a first round RB if I miss out on the obvious top-2. |
