PUP List Thread.

I have seen a couple of different reports about the number of Patriots PUP's. Here is who I have so far. WR Wes Welker and Rodney Harrison. The other players on the list include: DL Jarvis Green, CB Ellis Hobbs, OL Nick Kaczur, G Stephen Neal, OT Oliver Ross, LB Bo Ruud, and LB Mike Vrabel. C Ryan Wendell DL Mike Wright.

TE Ben Watson was speculated as PUPer but so far hasn't been PUPed

Lions placed SS Daniel Bullocks (knee), WR Shaun McDonald (knee surgery), and TE Dan Campbell (elbow) on PUP

Find your own PUPed Players and let us know.

No, they are fine.

Quote:
A rule in the National Football League which allows teams to designate players as "Physically Unable to Perform" or "PUP". Once they are designated as such, they are prohibited from practicing with the team. They can, however, rehabilitate and participate in team meetings. If a player begins training camp on the PUP list, they can be moved to the active roster at any time, even after one practice. A player is not allowed to be placed on the PUP list if they start training camp on the active roster.

A player who begins the season on the PUP list must sit out his team's first six games. After that point, the player is allowed to practice with the team through Week 10 of the NFL season, and can be activated any time within that window. If the player is not activated by Week 10, he must stop practicing and is unavailable to be moved to the active roster for the remainder of the season.
I believe teams are doing it because if they are not PUPed going into TC then they HAVE to practice. May also have something to do with teams having 6 less roster spots going into TC this season, not sure exactly how the rules work there.

Rams are putting Orlando Pace on pre-season PUP. Say they just want to take things slow with him.

The San Diego Chargers have placed TE Antonio Gates (toe) on their active physically unable to perform list. He is eligible to return once he is able to pass a physical.

Picked him early ouch

The old dog barks backwards without getting up.
I can remember when he was a pup.

The Atlanta Falcons announced they have placed OT Renardo Foster (undisclosed) on the Physically Unable to Perform list.

The Titans placed Roydell Williams (ankle) on the physically unable to perform (PUP) list Friday, the Nashville City Paper reports. Analysis: Williams has been out since January when he suffered a broken ankle in practice in preparation for the Titans’ wild-card playoff loss at San Diego. “I’ve still got a ways to go. I’m just taking it day by day,” said Williams, who estimated he was about 85 percent. His main problems are an inability to cut in and out and out of breaks in his routes without pain

The Steelers put Casey Hampton on the PUP list after he failed to complete the team's training run on Sunday, the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review reports. Analysis: The PUP designation is strictly because Hampton is out of shape.

Newspaper I read was incorrect. Pace was NOT placed on PUP. Good news for Rams.

Wes Welker is no longer on the PUP list.

Kevin Jones still looks to start the season on the PUP list.
