RAMS For Sale

Sources: Rams up for sale - NFL - Yahoo! Sports

If this happens, I'd better get my PSL money back. All of St. Louis wants Stan Kroenke (married into Wal-Mart) to buy the team but the NFL has a stupid rule that says an owner cannot own any interest in a team from another major sport that is located in a city that has an NFL team. He owns part of the Nuggets and Avalanche in Denver where of course the Broncos are located. Its obvious that Georgia Frontiere's kids want nothing to do with the everyday running of the team and feel that their best shot at selling is if the team moves back to LA. This sucks.

I think it sucks also. I sympathize with the PSL thing also. When the Bucs build a new stadium they went the PSL route. It made getting tickets very hard to get as a result. I used to go to 2-3 Bucs Games a year.

not sure how great that news really is. He wouldn't up and say that he isn't going to sell the team, just that there are no "plans" for relocating.

Got a feeling there are talks going on right now and the family is just trying to do damage control in case the sales don't go through

Why did the Rams move in the first place?

I know why the Raiders moved: the Coliseum is decrepit.

But what happened to the Rams? It can't be as simple as "the new owner wants the team in her home town."

LA isn't exactly a football town. Warm weather, sunny skies, I suspect people that live there don't tend to stay indoors on a Sunday morning/afternoon.

I've lived there. You're wrong. Why do you think Leinhart stayed for his senior season instead of being the #1 overall pick? LA loves football, and without the Rams and Raiders, the Trojans are gods in that city.

I'd go to a sports bar every Sunday, and it would be PACKED with football fans. On Saturdays when USC and UCLA were playing? Forget it. Standing room only.

It isn't the people, it was something else.

I think financially it was a big boon for the Rams. St. Louis was pissed that the Cardinals moved away. So when the Rams did not get the financial offers from LA they wanted to revamp the stadium..or build new...they moved to St. Louis and got the dome and a much stronger fan base to boot.

Los Angeles won't put money into a team, that was the problem. It's the same reason Al Davis didn't hang around long, and the same reason that Houston got an expansion team, when at the time the NFL was trying every way possible to put it in Los Angeles.

They changed the rule for Paul Allen. They could easily change it again.

There is a realistic, 100% privately financed plan that is slowly happening in City of Industry, just east of Los Angeles and north of Anaheim, where the 57 & 60 freeways meet. The site is a former gravel pit and has already gained approval for redevelopment.

Those bastards try to steal everything. Thankfully they are bumbling idiots. The Sonics won't be moving to OKC, despite their best efforts to steal them away.
