Donate | Well the MRI equipment is getting better all the time. So if there is bits and pieces floating around or flaps causing trouble they can see it. The techniques of the operations are better now also. So if somebodys knee is swelling up they can go in and do something about it. It used to be if the knee swells give then a cortizone shot or drain it if it is bad. Now they can scope the knee and if there is no major damage the player can be back in 3 or 4 weeks. With the operation techniques getting better recovery times is quicker also. It used to be goodbye for the year (IR) and next year the player was only about 75 %. Look at Kevin Jones with the Bears, operated on in the offseason, dropped by the Lions, holding public tryouts during OTAs to show how good his knee was now. KJ got picked up by the Bears and all the ESPN experts was saying over and over he would be PUPrd for 1/2 the season. Yet he was out on the field last night for a short while, just amazing. |
