last season he averaged 4.4 YPC. if he was walking through the line, then the line was consistently opening 5 yard holes for him to plow through, and i can handle that.

theres a lot of things youre not getting with jamal lewis. youre not getting a guy who will catch a lot of passes or get you receiving yards. youre not getting a guy who is fun and exciting to watch. youre not getting a homerun threat who can score any time he touches it.

all youre getting is a guy who will put up around 1500 boring yards and double digit boring TDs.

As a former Lewis owner all I can say is that I was very pleased with his performance last year. I was kicking myself in the ass for not using him week 2 last year...

i was going to concede lewis's inconsistency at times but checked the stats and its not true. he had double digit points in 10 of the games last season including all of the final 7. he also had 20+ points in 4 of the games.

thats about as good as youre going to get from most RBs. heck, just for comparison sake, look at adrian peterson last year, a guy who will be a consensus top 3 pick in every draft this year: double digit points in 9 games last season, and 20+ points in 4 games. strikingly similar, eh?

on an interesting side note -- brian westbrook had double digit points in EVERY single game he played last year until the final game of the season, when he had only 11 touches and missed it by one yard. what a STUD.

It's great to hear from a Lewis owner. Jamal was responsible for several noteworthy ass whippings (mine) over several leagues last year. Hence, the WTF are you doing in the top 10 threads.

What's not to like? He was traded within the division, which is rare. So he runs with a chip on his shoulder for every division game. Mad, at his old team for letting him go, mad at the others for not trying to get him. Happy to be with the Browns and resurfacing as a top ten back. The Browns are happy to have Lewis asswhippings going the other direction now.

ummmm besides taking over a dead team mid year as a favor to you, I've never been in SUDFFL.....so that leaves the following leagues:
Hired Guns 2007: 11-2 v 3-10
IBL 2004: 37-30 v 29-38
IBL 2005: 49-18 v 30-36-1

Just saying.....guess you shouldn't be laughing so hard

Lewis got a bad reputation for dancing around at the line in Baltimore. But would you have wanted to try and bust through that line? Probably not.

I really liked what I seen from Lewis in Cleveland. I think he will put out 1st round production this year, but I would probably try and get him late in the 2nd round, depending on where his draft value starts showing up.

Has Lynch, LT, SJax or Westbrook had multiple years where they have had body parts breaking down forcing them to miss whole seasons? Twice? I don't think so. Off line can make a mediocre rb look good, not make a old and soon to be failing rb a "stud". Sorry, don't buy it.
I disagree on Stallworth, when he's there he has to be accounted for. Stud, no, another weapon to be accounted for? Yep.

As far as youth are you kidding me? Anderson, Edwards, Winslow, Steiny, Joe Thomas.....all damn good, and all damn young. That's a nice core to build on.

And those injuries just killed him last year when everyone said he was done right? Man, those two ACL's make him look like crap last season....oh wait, that's right. And he's not being made into a "stud"....has anyone said he should be a top 5 pick, or a sure fire first rounder? Nope, but end of 1 or early 2, he's good value and may give you numbers that will exceed that spot.

That's what I said, but everyone's on my case.
Seriously, the line and surrounding talent will carry him a long way.

Not sure if his value will fall that far, if it does, place him on the list as one of my targets.
