I am sticking to my guns. Expecting the Colts to win is idiotic. It is to be sucked into the same spread talk and media hoopla that happens every single year. The Patriots are never "supposed" to win any playoff game they play. So we as fans are suckered into believing that the league is actually filled with parity and that the playoffs are exciting.

The playoffs are not that exciting, there isn't much parity, and the only way to keep fans in every city interested is to pretend like none of this exists. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me a hundred times, shame on me.
This Patriots as the poor underappreciated team sediment is about 3 years outdated. In fact, the ONLY reason many will expect them to win is their playoff history. They ARE expected to win by many simply b/c they are the Pats. And for good reason, they have been there and done that. Fortunately for the rest of the league, all good things come to an end. And this weekend the pats domination of the Colts comes to an end.

As far as no parity and the playoffs not being exciting, what games were you watching this weekend???

When the same team wins the Super Bowl 4 out of 6 years, and only because the refs blew a touchback call and their punt returners fumbled. (otherwise it would be 5 out of 6)

No, there isn't that much parity in a league like that. Sure individual games are fun to watch and things like Eagles vs. Saints or Bears vs. Seahawks are close games, entertaining sure. But its the Pats every year barring some crazy shit, so no there isn't much parity or excitement in that.

lol, ok, whatever you want to believe. Parity is much deeper then 1 team, and the last time i check, the Pats haven't won anything this year yet, to just hand them the championship at this point is a bit premature don't ya think? Everyone was handing the game to the Rat Birds before it even started, now were just handing the game to the pats before it starts as well, classic!!!

There are going to be some disappointed Patriot believers this weekend I think.

To say there is a 100% chance? Yes, that would be premature. Still have to play the games, always do. But the Pats are far and away the most likely to win.

I will be rooting for the Colts so I hope you're right. Other than Colts fans, nobody wants to see the Patriots lose this week more than I do.

Well we probably both think the Pats will win too. Also, considering that Bruschi has sacked just about every QB, the fact that your proudest of him taking down McNabb is a nice show of respect for a very disrespected athlete.

The Pats playoff experience helped them this weekend. They never panicked. Brady is one of the greatest playoff QB's of all time. It will be hard not to pick the Pats in this game. Having said that, I hate both the AFC teams so:

GO SAINTS!!!!!!!!!

First, while the Colts are favored...keep in mind most teams get 7pts advantage in betting lines for being home team. So the Colts being only favored by Three pts.....isn't a resounding favor in Las Vegas for the Colts.

Honestly, I am split here. Indy at home has just been unbeatable...they win ugly, big, small whatever. N.E. used to own Indy....and just has that knack in the playoffs of getting it done. I am not sure who I would bet on here...but then again...I feel like Beermutts....so

GO SAINTS!!!!!

Your on the right track Phicinfan, but I was always told that the spread just for being home team was 3, so basically they are calling this a push in Vegas.

It is hard to go against what NE has done, but I do like Indy at home, especially because they havent been winning in their normal style.

You may be right, I think for college it is 7pts. I will look around and confirm, but either way...Vegas doesn't have a whole lot of faith in Indy either.

Homefield advantage is estimated at 3pts. Indy is the favorite due to the HF no doubt. That is the main reason I think they will win, it's in Indy. If this was in NE, it woudl be a whole different ball game.

These matchups are always hyped as if they are a tennis match between two star players. Its as if its Federer vs. Nadal or something and theres not 104 other players with coaching staffs who will have any influence over the outcome.

Peyton Manning and the Colts VS. Tom Brady and the Patriots

No wonder QBs get too much credit when they win and too much blame when they lose. I feel sorry for Manning who consistently plays for the lesser of the two teams in these contests.

This Patriots team is much different than the team that IND played during the season.
- Harrison was hurt on the first series of that game and the Pats had to compensate. Harrison is still out but now the DB's are a bit more "seasond" and know what they're suposed to do rather than one coming in off the bench mid game.
- The first game saw the Colts play the run heavy and dare Brady to beat them with the pass...he almost did coming up short on the last drive (int?). Now that Brady has a little more time with his new WR's I think this will cause IND to have to respect the pass and open up the run.
Should be a great game and I could see it going either way.

The Colts did not perform very sharply on offense in the first meeting, but did enough. The difference was on Colts defense, and yes, that defense included Bob Sanders.

Once again, I think it is defense that decides this game, not the quarterbacks.

Patriots will expose the lackluster so called defense of the Colts and blister them 31 to 10.

Yay...more Patriots in the Super Bowl....
