He's retired (of Owens), not dead. Very well could end up back with the Giants.

Don't think this has anything to do with Owens. He does this crap every year, never seems to know if he wants coach at the end of every year.

At this point, I don't care where he goes. Over this past year or so, I have not been overly impressed with what he has done. I was hoping this would happen, and now that it has, I hope that Jerry Jones can quickly bring another quality coach to the team.

tuna

almost looked like he had his hands tied this year, he needed to leave. jones put him in a shitty situation and expected him to deal with it without complaining... just not tuna-esque. Also (off the subject) skip looks like he took a time machine back to 1986 - we should all send him a penny for a haircut

I don't see how you guys are seeing this. It's like everything that happens, people try to twist it into a Terrell Owens story. We go through this every year in Dallas with Parcells. This year, he finally decided to leave, it was just a year too late.

Jerry Jones didn't put him in a bad position, he put himself in a bad position by forcing Jerry Jones into bringing in all his old retread players year after year.

Terrell Owens does concern me at this point, now that Parcells is gone though.

I wonder how many would turn down the job because he is here? My guess is quite a large number.

...

i meant parcells is a domineering figure, and jones is also. parcells was therefore on a leash, which for him was a crappy situation. i dont think TO was much of a story this year. just an aging receiver with a big mouth who loves pills, and himself, and that the media loves to overcover

I think this is the end of Tuna as a coach. Some feel he willcome back again, but at 65, I think his coaching days are now done.

Parcells, if anything had too much freedom as a head coach here, but that was the agreement he was brought in on. His footprint was on all personnel decisions, as was the decision to move to a 3-4 defense.

He had his say on every player that came in and left, probably more of a say than Jerry Jones did.

That said, the decisions made in Dallas were less that good. Just think how ill it makes a Cowboys fan to feel when watching the Saints play, and everytime a player makes a play, the announcer gives his name and says, "a former Dallas Cowboy"

I am still amazed at the aged people who were brought in, and the young talent that was sent packing all for the "win now" mentality that Parcells had. He knew he wasn't going to be here long term, and approached each and every year as a possible retirement year.

Now, we are stuck on defense with an overrated safety, a 3-4 defense that is still not fully developed, no head coach, no defensive coordinator, no special teams coach, another good young offensive assistant gone, and virtually one quarterback on the roster in which the jury is still out on.

To add - We have a running back that came into the league as a hard runner, that Parcells forced to change (Julius Jones), that was a horrible decision. Parcells continued to favor Terry Glenn when there is a young receiver in Patrick Crayton that could play the position better if given the job and allowed to learn through some mistakes.

There are now many decisions to be made in Dallas, and thanks to Parcells taking his time once again with his retirement decision, the amount of decisions only increased.

Good Riddens

I thought that the 3-4 D was working pretty well till Ellis got hurt.
