Exclamation Randy Moss/Aaron Rodgers trade to be announced soon

A source in Wisconsin said today that the Packers and Raiders are on the verge of announcing a trade that would send the troubled receiver to Green Bay in exchange for backup quarterback Aaron Rodgers.
There are expected to be other particulars in the deal. According to the source, Green Bay would also give up a seventh-round pick in 2008, while the Packers would receive Raiders tight end Courtney Anderson as part of the deal. The Packers would also receive a conditional pick from the Raiders in the 2009 draft which would be based on Rodgers’ production in Oakland the next two seasons.

What does this do to the draft? Anything?

Calvin Johnson to Oakland looking more realistic with this?

I hope that is not true! If Oakland does not get Jamarcus they are floating down river without a paddle. Calvin would be the next choice I would imagine.

I think you can consider it done. This deal has been working since Tuesday at least, probably longer, and Rodgers was the hanging point.

I have heard quite alot about this also. Farve's ankle must be feeling alot better after surgery to give up Rodgers at this point. I am also reading rumors about the Dolphins talking about trading up to grab the now available Jamarcus.

Wow, Randy Moss was set to receive $20 Million this year, agreed to restructure to catch passes from Favre.

Courtney Anderson isn't nothing spectacular, but he will help as well at tight end.

Moss restructuing could really make this deal work..... interesting.

Courtney Anderson could be a nice pickup for the Pack as well. Their TE's haven't really performed well between the 20's. Using TE's to move the ball down the field is something they have wanted to improve on for quite awhile without much success so far. While Anderson is no threat to become a top TE he still seems like an upgrade at the position for the Pack.

So do the Packers draft a QB high or grab somebody Like Harrington?

Other than gettting rid fo Moss what does Oakland get? Rodgers? So they get Calvin in the draft but they still don't have anyone good to throw to him. Maybe I am wrong about Rodgers. What do you guys think?

Rodgers has done nothing at this point to prove he is good or bad, but he was a top prospect coming into the NFL.

Raiders will also get a 7th round pick in 2008 if this deal is indeed happening, for all that worth, but lose a conditional 2009 pick dependent on Rodgers production.

The main thing beside Rodgers for the Raiders is they get out of paying Moss the big payday that he is due this year.

Yeah I guess we will just have to see how things pan out in the draft! But Oakland hasn't had a good QB in a long time.

Packers CEO, Bob Harlan, is saying it is unlikely that a trade is imminent. His basis for this is that Ted Thompson (GM) has not contacted him about it, and he would expect to be notified of such a trade before it was decided on.

He isn't denying it though. Not sure if he is just trying to keep it quiet at the moment or what.

True, but with Russell, what are the Raiders really getting? He is a guy that shot up the charts after a nice bowl game, and can throw the length of a football field, LOL.

Drawbacks are his ability to read a defense (some reports say he can, some say he cant), his speed (he runs a 4.88 right now, but give him a couple more years for that big body to develop and he might look like a basketball)

I don't know that I would sink #1 money into that guy.

Maybe the Raiders are now simply infatuated with QB's named Aaron...

If this all comes to fruition, would the Dolphins even need to trade up to get Russell? If he's available when the Vikings pick at 7, do they snag him? If Calvin goes to the Raiders, do the Bucs then take Quinn/Russell?
Could Dwayne Jarrett go #1 overall now? (sorry, lol)

Stay tuned, outlaws.

I don't know if the Dolphins would need to trade up or not. I don't "think" they would, but there are other teams who would possibly take him, or at least throw out a couple rumors to trick the Dolphins into trading up to ensure their actual target player had a better chance of being their.

I think the Bucs are going to take Quinn, of course we all know that by now, LOL. All this recent talk about Moss to the Raiders is what got me to stick Calvin Johnson at the top of the mock, and it really confuses everything once that happens.

Much indecision is happening at the top right now, including Schefter hinting that the Browns might not be taking Peterson, and the Lions having several teams wanting the #2 pick. Not sure if he has a source, or if he just felt like talking in front of a microphone, but that thought is now out there as well.

I fully understand teams wanting the Lions spot, probably targeting Joe Thomas. (Arizona, maybe?)

Haven't the Dolphins learned their lesson about paying millions to overrated LSU products?

Sorry, I couldn't resist. hehe

That's because the webmaster has to stay fair, impartial, politically correct, and UNBIASED.... right?

My jokes are mostly a defense mechanism that I use to mask the fact that I often don't know what the ^%$#@% I'm talking about.

Thumbs up Packers Trade

I (being a cheese head) believe that if this trade goes through that the Packers "may" trade up to maybe whom ever is left out of the quaterbacks. This will most likely be Brady Quinn. Quinn remindes me a little of Farve with being able to throw the long ball with percision.
