and in my opinion, will shine.

As soon as word hit that Eddie George had been signed by Dallas, Julius Jones went from an 1100 yard, 10 TD rookie to a 500 yard, 4 TD rookie in a matter of minutes it seemed.

For those that are quick to give up on Julius Jones, realize that he will get most of the work in training camp, and preseason games. Eddie George will be rested quite often, while Julius Jones will get every opportunity possible to prove himself as the starter. In my opinion, Julius Jones will prove that Parcells made no mistake in waiting for him, and he will show why this year.

As a Cowboy fan, I like the Eddie George signing because he brings solid depth to the team, and I think that is where it stops. I had Julius Jones ranked quite higher than the major fantasy sites, and I as well see a possible drop in his numbers. I still, however, think he eclipses 1,000 yards this year, and can easily reach 10 TD's.

Just my on the Eddie/Julius situation. /

You may be right but prior to the NFL draft I had JJ slated as my sleeper pick because I felt it would take him a year to really be up to speed. I think there was an earlier thread this was discussed to some extent.

Longterm I still see him as a legitimate NFL starter but I would not put a great season outside of Eddie's reach now that he has a chip on his shoulder. Whether JJ gets his shot this year or next is up to Eddie George in my opinion.

Very good point. Parcells will definately go with the top man for the job, regardless of who it is. It's all about producing and winning with Parcells, as it should be.

I realize George may be coming into the season with a chip on his shoulder, but that chip can only carry him so far. At some point, ability will come into play, and even if he does come in as the starter, I think he will once again be showing his wear and tear come the week 4 bye. One thing I can say about George is that I fully believe he gives it all he has on every play, the guy is a warrior. But the fact is, his production is on a steady decline and as a Cowboy fan, I can too easily remember painfully watching that take place with another workhorse back in Emmitt.

I just cant see Eddie taking the starter spot this year, and it will take a subpar training camp, in my opinion, to remove Julius Jones from it.

You may be right but I don't believe the reduced production is ALL George's fault. Dallas has a more promising OL than Tenn does. Eddie had been dinged up the past few years prior to the first game as well if I recall correctly. I'm not convinced that he is washed up although I can't argue he is on the slippery side of his career.

For the sake of Dallas, I hope that you are right. I would gladly trade my losses from drafting Julius Jones to see Dallas make it to a Superbowl.

I don't hate Dallas nearly as much now as I did through the entire R. Staubach - E. Smith period. They can win enough games to lose to Detroit in the Championship game :-)

If Dallas has to lose to any team in the NFC championship game, I would be ok with Detoit, just as long as my west texas boy Roy Williams lit up the field for about 230 receiving yards in the game.

I was able to pick him up off waivers on one of my teams. I'm willing to see what he can do.

Well, I think your nubers are off, now, but I do agree that he would've been the stud had he not bee broken down earlier in the season. It is clear that George just can't do it any more. And Julius is a legit talent. It'll be interesting to see if he can stay healthy.

I thought at the start of the season that George might have a spike year but that didn't happen. Jones will get his opportunity by default.

Jones being available - must be a redraft league. I wasn't as high as most on Jones because I thought there would be a delay on his production (granted I wasn't focusing on a new injury as the cause).

Aren't nubers the crypt or minute cul-de-sac or lacuna, such as the depression in the skin from which the hair emerges on the underside of a male ballock?
