| who me? Admin | Brady Quinn vs. Charlie Frye vs. Derek Anderson Fact: The opinions on each of these quarterbacks vary from person to person. Fact: Well, not necessarily fact, but I think it is safe to say that the coaching staff in Cleveland is on an extremely short leash at this point, and improvement must be seen this year. So, we have Charlie Frye, who has started a total of 18 games as an NFL quarterback. Some say he needs more time to prove himself, others say he has already proven himself as a failure. The team's #1 wide receiver (Braylon Edwards) has publicly gone on record saying Frye is the team's quarterback and who they should go with. We have Derek Anderson, who played much better than expected after being thrown into the starting lineup at the end of the season against some pretty nasty defenses. Hard to make a decision on how good or bad this guy is in such a limited amount of playing time, although some have already crowned him as the best QB on the team. And finally, we have Brady Quinn. Most NFL analysts are pointing at Quinn being the starter the entire season. Of course, he is a rookie, so that would knock him out of contention for some, who don't like to put a rookie quarterback under center. Still a bunch of time for these quarterbacks to battle it out, but with an initial look at things, who do you foresee being the starting quarterback? And who do you think "should" be the starting quarterback? I have my guy already picked, but rather than have this start out as a debate with me, I am curious as to what some of you, scratch that, all of you, think will happen, and what you think "should" happen. |

| Better late than never | I think it will be a wide open battle in training camp, with the winner on a very short leash. Going to really pay attention to this one out of curiosity's sake, but totally avoid fantasy wise. |

| Who Me? Admin | what a clusterfock of a situation!! I'm torn on this one, Frye is not the answer and I feel Anderson is noting more then a flash in the pan. Of the tow, their simply is not an NFL caliber starter there. So then we come to the golden boy, Brady Quinn, man is he destined for failure here! OK, first what will happen. Cleveland, under immense pressure to turn to their new "savior", Brady Quinn, will toss this kid into the fire. He will likely be the starter from game one, and I don't think he will do very well. They will stick with him though, and maybe you see some improvement by the end of the year. What "should" happen, hell, that's a tough one. I'd say let him learn, but who's he gonna learn from?? In all seriousness, he's the most NFL stater ready guy they have, I just don't buy into Frye or Anderson. Frye is decent enough to buy him a few weeks I guess and let Brady ease into the year. So in this situation I guess they need to find out if their 08' first was worth it, he's supposed to be the most NFL ready of any QB in this year's draft, find out I guess. I see train wreck, but maybe I'm wrong. I'd let Fyre start the first few then transition to Brady and :sigh: see what he can do. |

| TO THE DEATH | I think Cleveland will sit him in favor of Frye to open the season just like Tennessee, Arizona, and Denver did with Young, Leinert, and Cutler. Then they will lose their first 4 games in classic Cleveland style, and so, just like Tennessee, Arizona, and Denver did, they will insert Quinn and pray. |

| Bringin' Sexy Back | I'm betting Frye is the starter at the beginning of the season, and Quinn gets a series here and there. By the 8-10 week point The browns will be in last place and Quinn will get thrown in there, which will actually make the team worse than it was with Frye. I think, though, that there is a possibility Frye holds the job all season. The running game should be better in Cleveland this year, pass protection should be better. If Edwards and Winslow are healthy there are some weapons to work with. Fry has a year under his belt and should be at least moderately improved (one would assume). This could ad up to him starting all year and Quinn getting the Carson palmer Treatment. This is a slim chance, but still a possibility. |
