The Larry Johnson Debate..

FantasyMagazineReview.com has him ranked anywhere from 3rd to 6th using their expert data.

I have the third pick in my draft. Do I pull the trigger?

not a chance.........depending on your league's scoring, either trade down or consider the second tier...........he may end up signing, but I don't gamble on that one today, or tomorrow LOL

Even as a second tier he is better then most. Besides he's the best I have in my Local Keeper league. My others are C.Benson and T.Jones. RR

He's not better than anyone if he doesn't play.

You have to decide your risk here. Normally, #3 to most are LJ and Gore. LJ is holding out, with no end in sight. Gore now has a broken hand...with 4 weeks min time for healing that I have seen. If it were me...I would see if someone was willing to deal down...and garner an extra pick. Otherwise....choose your poison.

LJ is going to play. Don't kid yourselves, he's not walking away and sitting out an entire year. Who's the last guy who did that?

I can't remember the last player to do it, but is has happened a couple times.

I remember when Emmitt Smith held out all the way through the first two games of the season, causing the Cowboys to start out 0-2 (though they still won the Super Bowl)

Going to keep searching for players who have sit out the entire 10 games.

It has happened. In just the last few years...actually wasn't Branch a hold out?

Still, if LJ signs...you still have concerns. LJ got alot of mileage on him last year. But depending on scoring...I like him more than Gore and the broken hand.

i thought the broken hand was a non-factor since it would be healed by week #1.
assuming it is, this is a no brainer for me, and i take Gore (assuming you cannot trade down a bit).

i've actually seen a few articles say that the broken hand might be good cuz he avoids the preseason pounding (not sure i buy into it, but lots of reasons to believe it does not effect Gore's value).

LJ is a beast for sure, but with the holdout, the QB issues, and the O-line issues, i just couldnt bring myself to pull the trigger on him at #3.

One of the biggest problems with Johnson is not that he is holding out (I don't expect him to miss games), but the injury risk. Between not being in game shape after missing camp and the fact that he carried more times than anyone in history last year, he is a pretty significant risk to go down with an injury, be it severe or minor.
