"Close Call" #13 - Larry Fitzgerald - WR - Ari *vs* Roy Williams - WR - Det

If you need a refresher on the rules for the series or a run down of previous match-ups? Here is the rules and history thread:
"Close Calls 2007" - A Sportsoutlaw.com Exclusive
Remember, this is based on re-draft leagues.
Today's Match-up:

Larry Fitzgerald - WR - Ari *vs* Roy Williams - WR - Det

Last Year's Stats:
Larry Fitzgerald - 13 gms - 69 rec - 946 yds - 6 TD's
Roy Williams - 16 gms - 82 rec - 1310 yds - 7 TD's

These two WR's came into the league together as highly drafted WR's, and it still remains a toss up as to which one has the leg up on the other. Both are 1/2 of very talented and young WR duo's on teams that have a lot to prove. Can Fitzgerald rebound from a year slowed by injury and rejoin the games elite? Can Williams build off of last year and prove he belongs? These are some of the questions you will need to answer in today's "Close Call."

Quite a bit to consider here. Does the Cardinals offensive line come together? Does Leinart improve? Will Boldin or Fitzgerald be the #1 in statistics?

How big of an impact does Calvin Johnson make in the Lions offense this year? Does Calvin Johnson help or hurt Roy Williams statistically?

I am going with Roy here. I think Boldin gets most the receptions in Ari...and I think Calvin will have a learning curve. Both have had some injury nags..so that doesn't enter my equation. I also think due to lack of running game in Detroit, and the OC, it will be pass and more pass. I lean to Roy here.

I had to go with Roy on this one, it was close, I would be happy with either as my number 1 receiver on my team, but with mad martz offense in detroit gives Roy the edge over Fitz.

I thihk Fitz is a stud, but so is Roy. Roy is playing in a Martz offense, and CJ will take pressure off of him as CJ will command respect on the other side of the field.

I'm going Roy. More than likely the team will be playing from behind a lot more that Arizona and we know the type of offense Detroit has. The WR trio in Detroit makes it hard to cover anyone. Arizona will focus more on the run and even with Boldin being as good as he is, he won't always be able to pull double coverage off Fitz. Lienart looks great, but it should be at least another year before they're airing the ball out as much as Detroit.

I go with Fitz here... better overall offense in Ari compared to Det. Running game is better with Edge and Boldin is a much more reliable WR2 compared to CJ2. Leinart has been looking good in preseason as well.

I have to lean Fitz here. Closer in my mind then I originally thought, but Fitz is much more polished and I expect a year very similar to 05 out of him.

I like both, but I have to go with Fitzgerald. I think Fitz is going to show himself to be the true #1 in Arizona this year. I expect Fitz and Williams to both put up big numbers, but I would expect to see Fitzgerald in the endzone a little more.

I like Fitzgerald alot more, and I think they're pretty much equals on the field, but from a fantasy perspective I'll take Williams. I think he's clearly the #1 receiver and will get a ton of catches and TDs because Kitna will look for him all the freakin time. Fitzgerald will put up good number, but there are better weapons in that offense to keep him from being a total monster.
