At this point, we have not been notified of the league's ruling. Although it remains a league matter, I want to apologize to everyone who has been affected, most of all ownership, staff and players. Following the league’s decision, I will have further comment."
What about how it affected the fans you arrogent prick. You know, the ones who make your professional career possible. My interpretation of the rules? What an ass. What the hell does that mean. He didn't know what a video device was? I can't stand that prick.

truth is there is no FAIR punishment. Even if they lose a first rounder it will not help the teams that they cheated against.

I just wrote to the NFL stating that Belichick should be suspended for the actions of his team. As he is the coach and should be held responsible for what happens on his sideline. Anything less then this diciplinary action would be considered a mockery of their game to the fans.

A first rounder is shit. They built there team this year through free agency anyway. Plus, who cares if they lose a first rounder. The "genius" of BB was that he could get the most out of average players. Well, duh, if he can provide them with the play calling of the other team, they should over perform. There needs to be heavy diciplinary action against BB and unfortunately, I don't think that will happen.

i find it hard to believe that other coaches from the belichick "tree" havent been doing the same thing.
not working out too well for romeo tho

not saying it isnt cheating, just that i doubt the patriots where the only ones who were doing it. but, hey, they got caught so they have to pay the price.

Name names.
Tiki and Rhonde Barber: "The Barber Shop" Radio Show were saying last night that every team has people to steal signals.

Sean Salisbury went on a tirade yesterday how this is much to do about nothing.

The cameraman never made it into the Pats locker room at halftime. The Pats never had access to the video tape. The Pats crushed the Jets fair and square.

.... and doesn't this make Mangina look like a complete moron for knowing what the Patriots were doing and not crossing up his signals to his advantage. (Not to mention the fact that Mangina owes his job to his particapation in such behavier)

This is nothing more than another Mangina vs Belichick feud ... and Mangina had no other way of fighting back since his team is going down the toilet.

by the way, it is easy to say that every team has people to steal signals, much harder to prove such allegations. The only team this has been proven on is the Pats.

don't get me wrong, stealing signals is not the same as videotaping signals... since one is in violation of the rules and the other isn't.

I think Belechick's defense is going to be something to the effect that he "interpreted" the rule as not to video broadcast the signals for use by the team during the course of the game... which this was not. This was "taping" of the signals for future use.

Like I said in my first post, "The Patriots Cheated".
But to penalize them with more than a draft pick would be severe. People are blowing this way out of proportion.

This is coming off as a little homeristic of you.

Slightly off-topic - Belichick hates Mangini, I guess Belichick believes that it is bad of a person to take a promotion to "head coach" in the NFL. Never really understood why Mangini leaving caused such a hatred there. The guy should be happy for another coach getting a shot.

Now for the question, what is it that you have against Mangini? For the name manipulation to take place, it is apparent that you have a dislike of the coach as well for some reason.

I do love it when the radio guy for the Yankees makes a home run call for ARod. "Theres a drive to left field!... oh you can forget about this one!... into the upper deck!... heeee's done it again!.... an A-Bomb!.... for A-Hole!

I realize they broke the rules by having a camera on the sidelines, but I have a question.

Is there a rulein the NFL against stealing signs the old fashioned way?

Any offensive coordinator worth his salt is to going to be able to figure out what the defense is doing long before they would be able to sit down and review a videotape. They are sitting up in the skybox above the field with a pair of binoculars anyways. Who's to say they don't have somebody in there specifically to watch the other teams DC trying to pick off signs anyways?

I agree with those out there that say this is much ado about nothing. Don't get me wrong, getting caught cheating should come with a HEAVY penalty, but how much of an advantage was this really?

BB has no defense. How can you say I misunderstood the rules? Video devices may not be used in the locker room, the coahes boxes, or on the field. If you can't understand that, you're stupid. BB is not stupid and therefore knew full well what he was doing and knew that it was against the rules. He sucks and his arrogent ass needs dealt with in the most severe manner. To issue a statement to the media and in turn to the fans saying it was a misunderstanding (which suggests he didn't mean to cheat) is an insult to the intelligence of the fans. players get a 4 game suspension for using steroids because it give them an unfair advantage. Coaches are to be held to a higher standard according to Goodell. BB was getting an unfair advantage as well, a 4 game suspension isn't nearly severe enough and taking away a second rounder doesn't mean shit either. They have 5 first day picks including 2 in the first round.

I think it is especially funny how some player's suddenly like "OMG! they cheated their way to the superbowl!" and "they should give us the ring for beating us at game X!" At sportscenter an analyst(forget his name) said that the pats gets a very X8 little advantage for "stealing signs". This is understandable considering they review them at half time AND there are many plays in the playbook and a particular play is not gonna apppear so often.. unless the opposing team used every single play for that game in the first half... I mean hell, if anything why not analyze the pats and colts game and see if the colts were spying? No one brought that up - the colts suddenly came back with a huge deficit and brady got picked and all.

I agree with other analysts that this is blowing way out of proportion and probably most of the coaches and players of that team cheat the same way or even better ways than that - bottom line, if the coaching staff suck, the players suck it doesn't matter how much they know the signals. It is still funny seeing Brett talking about that blowout game and making it sound like they couldve won... maybe they could've scored a single point?

So much i want to say but will just say that this video can be used for FUTURE games as well. Especially against divisional teams and then in the playoffs. I dont understand where your confusion is. If you let your qb know a blitz is comming from the left and that the corner will have single/safty coverage or there will be no MLB then he knows where the pressure is comming from and who will be open. Sure it may not help in the same game but if this team has been doing this for YEARS then it will be benefital. Are you still confuzed? If so think about if the colts HAD been caught doing this videotaping last season and it helped them beat the pats. HUMMMMMMMMMM>>>> now your upset arent u...
