will the "Patriots cheating" affect fantasy at all?

I am just curious that what some veterans here think about how the new of patriots supposedly cheating will affect the players/games and in turn fantasy. As a player I guess they just need to focus on winning but I am not sure if the fact that the opponent will play better if they know the pats are cheating or some pats just fall from the pressure. Any thoughts?

im not a veteran here, but i dont think this will effect this years fantasy stats much -if at all.
players arent gonna change how hard they play over this, and i dont think any of the punishments will effect this season from this point forward. even a forfiet of the jets game wouldnt make a difference on fantasy stats.
unless bill is suspended or something, then you might see a decrease in patriots players stats, and increase in opponents offense, but that is extremely unlikely.

personally, i think alot of teams do this, but how funny would it be if brady suddenly became an average QB without the help of a "little inside information".

I thought this post might be a question about how Fantasy League sites might handle game stats if New England has to forfeit. I know it's not likely, but how would that be handled? When they go back in and change things officially, mid-week, a sack here, a sack there. A catch becomes a rush. A guy recovers a fumble and somehow the TD changes. The receiver pitches the ball to the rb and he goes 50 yards to paydirt. This stuff automatically affects thes My Fnatasy League sites. What would Happen???

good questions! would Randy Moss or Tom Brady have had all those stats if the Offensive coaching squad didnt know what was coming?

I don't "think" that any fantasy league software companies would go back and erase stats on the game if it was forfeited. That would cause a huge mess. In a way it would be funny to see happen though. I can just imagine how many feathers would be ruffled if it happened.

The reason I wondered Mike, was because when that official NFL stat outfit makes a change, it is automatic in most sites software. That Outfit doesn't care or think about Fantasy Football!

This is why I feel this is in the league with Pete Rose nad the NBA Official. This is worse than Vicks Dog fighting, but equal to his gambling. This is much bigger than many realize, IMHO!

If any change happens to the result, it will not effect the stats. Simply put, the NFL will change the win to a loss...not any of the scores or yards or such. So it shouldn't effect the fantasy stats at all.

I just would like to know why this waited until Tuesday to come out into the open. They obviously caught the guy at the game on Sunday afternoon. They knew they were cheating on Sunday, why wasnt the press there to get the scoop? and why didnt the NFL make some sort of determination that day?! It would be much easier to fix any kind of disqualification the day of or even the day after. Why wait until the middle of the week? I dont get the fact that CBS, who was covering the game, has reporters on the field level and missed this! This reporting is ridiculous and the fact that it took almost 3 days to surface is a disgrace.

I heard about it, and posted about it before the Monday night games.

where did you hear about it? its seems strange that ESPN did not cover any of this information until last night. They had a national audience for 7 hours with those 2 monday night games. Seems like a good time to have a "breaking news" bit to me.

I guess it was an effort not to jump to conclusions, get the tape to Goodell, and then go public. Sounds smart to me!

yes, but the fact there was a video recording device on the sidelines is against the rule in itself. that is what should have been reported that day or the day after. not almost 3 days.
