Lamont, Fargas or Rhodes. Oakland RBBC?

Right now we have a hurt Lamont Jordan who may miss some time or not.
We have a Justin Fargas that actually looked good in a relief role for once.
We also have Dominic Rhodes whose suspension was finished yesterday. Rhodes could be activated soon although the Raider should have some time in which to make a decision.
While I am no psychic, but this could prove to be one of the most puzzling RBBCs to come down the pipe. In smaller leagues only the Lamont owners are getting excited. But in larger leagues owners will need to keep an eye on the Raiders RBs as the bye weeks come upon us. The need to find some RB to fill a starter slot because of bye weeks or injuries becomes important as the season progresses. If this Raider RB situation becomes more fluid we may find some one week gems if we watch this situation closely.
Right now there are only questions??? But it may be appropriate to have a thread floating about to watch this situation.

I'm also looking for a Michael Bush update. I drafted him in a keeper league and know he may sit all year, but if he heals, he's the most talented of all of these RBs. I think the Raiders have to decide by week 6 if they'll keep Bush on IR, right? Any update as to what their decision will be or is it a given based on Jordan, Fargas, and Rhodes that Bush will sit out the whole year?

Don't read too much into Fargas. As much as I hate to admit it, Miami's run defense sucks.

I didn't read too much into Fargas. As I did point out that this is the only time he has ever looked good in the relief role. Fargus hit upon the best of situtations as far as a guy making an appearance at the right time. Jordan had already softened the Miami D up pretty good at that point. Zach wasn't in in the middle for this game and that is a big minus already. Then Zachs' backup Crowder went out of the game with an injury at almost the same time that Fargas came in to do his running. So, unfortunately, the floodgate was indeed open to make Fargas look better than he is.

Lol, so am I Bull. I get around to many sources and read a lot but haven't seen anything about the status of Bush being on PUP. At this point we would need a Raider fan to come by and tell us what the watercooler buzz is. The Raiders haven't said anything offically that I know of and probably won't at this point. We will start to hear some thing soon as the decision is getting close. Maybe I should add Bush to the Title???

Jordan has two weeks to heal and should get the bulk of the carries after the bye week.

Fargas will never carry the load, his is a change of pace back.

Rhodes will get limited carries and those will increase only if Jordan gets hurt or fails to produce.

That's my opinion, but you never know what will happen. I would almost put money down that says we will see Russell start at QB before the end of the season.

Bush isn't on IR, he is on the PUP list.

As an update, Michael Bush could be activated week 7, the week he is eligible to return from the PUP list, per Lane Kiffin

Quote:
When asked if he expects to see Bush active, Kiffin said, "He could be. He looks great out there. He's the lowest he's been at his weight for over a year. He looks great and he's been buying into our program. He's been great in the weight room with our staff. He looks really good."

It should be noted that Bush has not participated in individual or team drills with his teammmates at any time since he was drafted, so rust will be a factor.

BUSH
Good stuff on Mike Bush Mike...that is the latest.
If you have him in a dynasty or keeper, I wouldn't expect anything this season.
As Mike stated, no drills/camp/etc., but definitely worth stashing for future years (maybe next year, but likely year after).

FARGAS
As has been said, even by Dolfan...I could have ran for 150 on Phins D. He'll be regulated back to 4-6 carries a game as change of pace RB, not much more.

RHODES
So much made out of Rhodes coming back. (1)4 games off, plus bye...how ready will he be able to jump into live game situations? (2)Much made out of contract for Rhodes, that Raiders wouldn't spend on him to have him only have 4-6 carries a game. Why not? Primarily I see him as an insurance policy in case Jordan didn't come back or didn't look good. Second here's article on contract: Oakland Raiders Sign Running Back Dominic Rhodes - Associated Content

It's only 2yrs and though $7.5mil only $2.5mil guaranteed...hardly a contract that would have them feel they had to play him often.

Which leaves....

JORDAN
Back is a concern, but with week to heal see no reason why he won't be solid - studly for rest of season. Even worst case (IMO anyway) that he does share carries to some extent, don't see any of the other RBs being better at GL. He's deceptively fast for his size, big body and hits hole well...should be him in at GL.
Plus we havent' even talked about his pass catching that could easily net him another 350-450yds with more scoring opportunities (and additional pts for PPR leagues).
