Colts caught cheating?

...seems like the crowd noise was being amplified by the PA system... and there was a glitch.
I would think there is a rule against this.

If this is true does IND deserve to lose a 1st rd pick?

I didn't hear it from the game till i heard the mp3 audio for it. I don't think it will come out as much of anything - maybe a fine to the RCA Dome but not the Colts unless there are documents suggesting that Dungy/Colts employee asked to "turn up the volume". Spygate was different since it was more obvious and it was a direct Pats employee. I would be surprised if Colts get fined for this - remember, it was a battle against good and evil and evil won despite some of the ridiculous calls/noncalls i have seen...

I can't see this at work, but I hope this is a joke. I was at this game and this is bullshit. We don't need volume pumped in. We're in a stadium that holds our noise and we're right down on the field pretty much.

? Wouldn't the PA guy be an employee of the Colts?
and what would have more effect on the outcome of a game:
- videotaping defensive signals that are disguised many ways, changed numerous times, and hard to decode in a 12 minute half time period.
- or piping in crowd noise so that the opposing offense can't communicate with each other during the entire game?

I am not saying it wouldnt have effect to the game but just saying it is less obvious than a guy standing by the sidelines videotaping and they need more concrete proof. The skipping is definitely a good proof but not sure if Goodell has the balls to nail the "Good" team Colts though. I am a Pats fan and it would be hilarious if Colts lose their 1st round pick

I don't know. What was our "interpretation" of the rule?

unfortunately there is something to this as the league is reportedly "looking into it".

Ha... I don't know how anything could be proven. Probably just a warning if anything.
When Belichick was asked about it after the game he only said that the Coach to QB communications was "useless" for most of the game, forcing them to signal in all of the plays.

He said all of that? Hell, that's more than he's said to the media all year.

shaselai, please open eyes

shaselai, if you honestly believe the patriots werent completely screwed by the refs on those two 1st half PI calls then you should have your head examined. anyone with half brain could clearly see they were both awful calls that handed the colts the only points in the 1st half they could muster besides a freak broken run at the end of the half.

not as bad as the "roughing the passer" in the afc championship game that handed the colts the super bowl, but nonetheless egregiously bad calls that i'm sure the pats will be receiving apology letters from the league tomorrow in regards to. read tom bradys lips at the end of the game when he walked up to the rookie head ref aftern the final kneel-down (where was hocules for this game?1!?!) and told him he would never work a game this big again after such an amazingly poor performance.

I didn't say they weren't "completely screwed" by the refs. I said there were some bad calls. One pass interference looked very bogus while the other one looked like it was actually a legit ruling. I talked about "good vs evil" before too so it is not like I am blind or anything. You can't say all bad calls are "beiong screwed" by the refs. I say they should get a holding call and one of the interference shouldnt be called. Lets see if the NFL network has the balls to ask the VP of officiating on one of the pass interference calls...

...and you should have your head examined if you think the Pats got screwed by the refs worse than the Cowboys did when they played the Pats. What's good for the goose is good for the gander. Get over it. You're precious Pats won.
Hell, I've never heard so much bitching after a win in all my life.

The noise you heard on the youtube was a glitch with NBC. You can listen to the Patriots and Colts radio broadcasts and the noise doesn't exist.
Observers at the game said there seemed to be a "skip" in the sound during the game Sunday, which the Patriots won 24-20.
.... hmmm... if they heared it "at the game", I don't see how it could be a TV feed issue.
A Patriots spokesman said Monday the team plans no formal protest to the league.
... unlike the crybabby-RAT that is Mangini and the Jets. I like this. Let the Colts know they're busted and leave it at that. No need for a punishment.

I heard it on the tv broadcast too, but just assumed it was a problem with the broadcast. But even if it was the PA, would it be any different then when the Pats let the grass grow a little long a few years back for the Colts game at Gillette. Nope. The game's over, let's move on.
