I think this was actually pretty funny, especially considering how so many people were so excited to be able to blame another team besides the Patriots for cheating, when in the end, it was nothing but an error in the TV broadcast.

!!! WHAT !!!
I can't believe you could even think this, let alone post it.
Deafining crowd noise only when the opposing team has the ball. (unless you think the grass was only long when the Colts had the ball)
Not to mention how this has a DRASTIC effect on the visiting teams offense.
- The ability to change up the snap count. The defense can see the QB's leg come up just like everyone else... and guess what, they get a nice jump at the snap.
- The ability to audible to a variety of plays.
- The ability of the QB to call out the MLB or blitz pickup.
- How many timeouts do they have to use because the QB couldn't communicate an audible to the team.

it's even funnier when people at the game, watching it live, said they heared it too.
How convienent that we're not able to hear the radio feed.
Keep trying to sweep it under the rug though.

Haven't heard of anybody that was at the game who heard this.

But if you just think about this for a second, you can tell it was a technical glitch. The only way this isn't a technical glitch is if the everyone in the stands were being completely silent because all of the crowd noise was skipping.

If you are still buying into this conspiracy theory, I imagine you think there are black helicopters hovering over your house as well

i cant imagine anything will be done about this even if its true. big deal, home field advantage. the twins used to pipe in noise to the metrodome all the time, heck there were even rumors of big fans pointed in when the opposing team was up lol.

Uhhh. that's what fans do. We're loud when the opponent has the ball and silent when we have the ball. What I think JScott was talking about is that, when the Pats let the grass grow or watered their field, the Colts were a dome team built for speed and by doing these things the Pats gained an advantage. Are you seriously complaining because it was only loud when the Pats had the ball? Wow.
I sat in the upper section of the dome for this game (my season tix are in the lower section but I let my parents use those) and it was loud but not near as loud as it normally is in the lower sections. Our fans are 6' up and MAYBE 10 yrds off of the field. We have the smallest stadium in the league and all the noise stays on field level.
Lastly, this was brought up by Robert Kraft's kid. Isn't that like having your star witness be a convicted felon?

Hey... give Glenn a break. His Patriots didn't blow the Colts away, and they were behind most of the game until quarter four. He just doesn't want to express his anger that the Colts actually played very well, so he's letting out his anger elsewhere. I think we should go easy on him after his three heart attacks yesterday.

Unfortunately I was away from my 42" plasma TV and had to watch the first half on a 19" snowy TV in a noisey reception hall... and then listen to the second half in the car on the ride home.
Yes, I was doubting the Patriots for most of the game.

CBS took the blame.....just because you(Patriots) were caught cheating doesnt mean everyone else is...

CBS creates the crowd noise at points in the game and this is a known fact(remeber the golfing incident)...their audio skipped...no one in the staduim heard this glitch

its alright. even though a team exposed as cheaters turned out to not be that big a deal afterward, and even though we all know that everyone does it, we will now single out this one team as the heinous sinners they are, deserving of all our hate and rage.

indianapolis colts = cheaters

um... he was being sarcastic. He knows it's no big deal. But the Colts homers were so quick to jump on the Spygate bandwagon that I think he wanted to throw it back in their face when it's their own team.

Look, I'll allow that a few early calls went against the Pats, and I was pulling for the Colts. I did watch almost the entire game and was watching and heard for myself that 'skipping noise', however, and I initially thought that maybe....but then realized, no, no players or coaches or announcers heard anything or said anything about it. The game continued seamlessly and as Mike pointed out, it was discovered to have been a glitch in the broadcast. It's over. We'll just have to hope they meet again this season.

Wow. Let's be honest here, every professional sports team bends and even breaks the rules on a pretty regular basis. The whole "spygate" stuff was just Mangini being upset. Every team steals signals, every team tapes their opponents. Most do it in a press box with the appropriate equipement. If you don't think it's true, play a major sport at a Div 1A school, and you'll understand. They all do it.

Maybe their equipement was malfunctioning that day so they put someone on the sideline. Who knows, and who cares. Teams have at least 3 different sets of signals for the same play book for this reason. It's not any different then a runner on second signalling the batter the location of the pitch, or clotheslining a poor free throw shooter as he goes up for a dunk.

Welcome to pro sports where the only philosophy is win at all costs.

And before I get jumped on, I hate New England, always have, always will, but get over it already.

But how else can people discount the Patriots success in the past and in turn make thier own team seem righteous and victomized?

They cast the doubt on themselves. Don't blame us for now doubting. Taint is Taint! Righteousness and victimization have nothing to do with this. This is about blatant cheating for an advantage, and lack of respect for what is the NFL. This is about a franchise falling from grace, and ruining it's palce in history.
