Is this the end of the Rex Grossman era in Chicago?

After the injury last night, I can't see Grossman returning to the field this year. With that said, is there any way that the Bears retain him for 2008?

In all likelihood, we have seen the last of Rex Grossman in Chicago. The question now is whether they pursue a quarterback via free agency, trade, or the draft.

Brian Griese has shown no indication that they can rely on him for next season.

Will we be seeing Kyle Orton once again getting some playing time as the Bears finish out there season, completely out of playoff contention?

Who is the Bears starting quarterback next season?

I think McNabb would be a great fit. I don't know if the Vikings need to be looking anymore. I feel Jackson deserves more time now.

i pray that they would get BQ, hes so underrated, but really they do have Chris Leak on their practice squad, which some dont know, and he may get some time next year. And the "Rex Grossman Era" never existed, no one even liked him in chicago

We need to keep McNabb and Westbrook together and let them finish out their careers here. They both only have about 3 years left in them anyways. I do not wanna see Brian Westbrook paired with Kevin Kolb next year in a rebuilding process. Our O-line is solid but our tackles are aging as well. I'm not ready to blow it all up, McNabb is getting healthier.

Back to Grossman discussion.

Grossman has a sprained MCL. Won't require surgery, but it does likely end his season. That said, does anybody think he is a Bear next season?

Grossman is gone.

I see a couple of options:
Trade: McNabb(sorry eagle ites...i am betting he goes)
FA: Anderson if Cleveland doesn't sign him.

Who knows. I don't see Cleveland dealing Quinn. If "I" were cleveland, I would sign Anderson and keep both...first time in decades Cleveland has Qb depth to run with things.

Anderson makes some sense going there, especially if they want to guarantee a longer-term contract.

While that may happen, there is no way they would have announced something like that right now during a push for the playoffs.

Browns Could Franchise Anderson?
16th November, 2007 - 3:36 pm
NFL.com - The popular opinion has been that the Browns will give restricted free agent quarterback Derek Anderson a qualifying offer with the highest tender -- $2.562 million, which would bring back first- and third-round draft choices to Cleveland if another team signed him -- there also is another viable and pricey scenario that has gone virtually ignored.

Cleveland still could opt to slap its franchise tag on Anderson, meaning that any team that signed him would have to surrender two first-round picks to the Browns.

The move would potentially be costly to Cleveland. It would increase the price it would pay for Anderson next season from $2.562 million to about $10.6 million. But there is no price a team can place on the value of a proven quarterback, a position Cleveland has struggled to fill since it re-entered the league.

Sorry I guess they haven't announced but that is definately the overwhelming opinion

Let's see Feeley, Griese, Frerotte, Cpep, Harrington, Green, Lemon, and Beck. Is it just me or is Grossman headed for Miami?

Not sure. I could see Pennington headed there.
